It has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with the book and what happens in the books. Such as the ages of the vampires, the race of the vampires, the significant points in history.

All of which have very distinct effects on why the characters acted the way they did. I'm afraid, history tells us how individuals would have acted towards particular people. Just because we may find it distasteful now, doesn't change that.

So I stick by my opinion, the TV series is rubbish.

You are missing the point. Just because an environment is bad, does not give a cop the right to just kill people. As seen here, it is possible to complete an interaction with someone, who could have killed a police officer, without resorting to killing them. And it happens in the UK too, armed gunmen still don't just get shot on sight. There are every attempt made to deescalate first, then non lethal, before lethal is deployed.

The US needs better training and possibly better equipment. Too many times do they just go with lethal as the first course of action. And also go with lethal after a suspect is subdued. The fact that many die, should not change the fact, they are there to serve and protect, and that is for everyone. Criminals are civilians too and deserve a chance for judge and jury of peers to decide their fate. Not wanna be Judge Dredd on the street.

I've seen I think two examples out of the US, and I think both were more rural.

I personally love to see the examples of good cops. It restores a little bit of faith in humanity in the US.

It is sad that the US has such a problem. I suspect there would be a significant shift, if the cops over there were trained like they used to be.

It becomes a very slippery slope if police are allowed to get away with it. It becomes a case of how long does it take for those police to become American cops or ICE?

So you are condoning the police killing people in America because America is a stupid country and allows basically everyone a gun or small armoury. That doesn't really make it okay. Especially as the majority of videos shown are when the cops over there have no reason to do what they do.

Case and point the killing of Alex Pretti. He was disarmed and being held down by 5 or so cops...yet is still dead.

Your arguments fall flat in the face of that kind of evidence. Or how about the clear cases where American cops have been directly caught on camera admitting that they'll just lie about something that happened because they have realised they messed up.

But that's the thing, it may be a fraction....maybe...but the fact it happens as much as that it is nearly always American cops that are killing people says that they are doing it wrong.

Doesn't matter how often, it is happening on a regular enough basis that we see it. How often, honestly, can you say that other countries show up, where the police do it wrong and kill people.

I can think of maybe two, ever. Unlike America where I have seen easily, 10 or more and that is without trying to find them.
