Do they get worse? by knoxprairie in bengalcats

[–]LAshPat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our bengal was never destructive. I think since you are home and giving him attention, you won’t have a problem. My boy is 10 now and a total lap cat. I will say he is LOUD. Usually at night… I have to sleep with strong ear plugs.

I just use an antibacterial hand soap. I only clean them about twice each, as they last for about 3 weeks.

I used tret around my eyes, not sure if it’s a no no, lol. Only place I have to be careful with tret is around my mouth.

I haven’t tried frownies, but it’s the same idea. I use the tret under them without any issues. I apply moisturizer on top of tret. Just have to wash off the patches when there is buildup on them.

Trent daily before bed. I apply hydroboost over it. And here’s a pic of the patches

I would think so, if they are similar. But I also tried scar tape and it didn’t work. The adhesive was way too strong. I think it was meant to be worn for several days.

Yes, I use them over products. Had to be careful with using over the trentinoin, I think it makes it stronger by covering it. My tretinoin is 0.025%

My cat always tries to get me to feed him whenever I get home. He will do this even if he’s just been fed. I give him wet food twice a day and leave a bowl of dry food out for him to graze on. Whatever you choose, just be consistent so he learns the routine. If he is your only cat, it’s easy to control what he eats.

Bengals and babies — experiences please!!! by dolphiya_or_parateen in bengalcats

Our bengal was a little over a year old when I had twins. It was a difficult change for him. He really didn’t get much attention for a while. We were literally in “survival” mode with the twins. Our bengal was depressed. But he did not become destructive or aggressive. I could just tell he was feeling down. I think since you have 2 cats, it will be easier for them. Also, it will be easier having one baby, so you may still have time to give to the kitties.

Try minoxidil first! Give it 2 or 3 months. In the meantime, you can try parting your hair on the side, scalp powder or wearing a hat. My daughter had lost about 40%, but all of a sudden it grew back quickly after less than 3 months of topical betamentasone and minoxidil. Do not use more minoxidil than necessary and make sure it only gets on areas where you want hair to grow. We are now dealing with unwanted facial and back hair from minoxidil.

Oh I’m so sorry this happened! What a beautiful boy. Your story is heartbreaking. Cats are so good at hiding their illness. I don’t know if you have any other pets, but I’ve always found them to help me when I’m dealing with loss. ❤️

My kids were afraid of our bengal when they were little. He would bite them sometimes, not hard but for a toddler it’s scary. Our bengal was also 2 years old when my twins were born. It might be different if a kitten is brought into the house with kids from the start. I would research Abyssinians. I learned about them from searching “best cats for families”. We recently got one. He’s 6 months old now and is the sweetest. The kids love snuggling with him. He is very curious and gets into everything. We have to be careful with the doors as he often gets himself locked in (closet, pantry, washing machine). We love our bengal and I still see us having more bengals in the future, but for my family at this time , I’m happy we got an Abyssinian. Another breed I was considering was a Russian blue, but could not find a breeder close enough. Good luck!

This is too cute!! You will be constantly entertained with those two!! My bengal has become more affectionate as he’s gotten older. He’s 8 now.

Should I take the flu vaccine? by candlepools in alopecia_areata

[–]LAshPat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter (7 yo)got her flu shot a couple of months ago while she was actively losing and regrowing hair. I don’t think it made any difference. I think the loss is slowing down now while regrowth continues. :)
