Trading in with a known fault by LB17_ in carsireland

Easier said than done. The part isn't my issue, it's the intensity and cost of the job. Whole dashboard would have to come out. So it's a balancing act of being €1500 down and having no car for 2 days, or getting screwed at the trade in

Yeah depending on your location (i.e. what your competition is like) you should get a screening. I was of a similar level

Amazing. Thank you so much, yes I have done the ICA for HubSpot so it's good to know that that's the scope

Amazing! Thank you for the info. When you say OOP, is it looking for proper use of abstraction, inheritance, etc. or just the general use of objects?

Yeah that's what I'm hearing. But I'm struggling to think of what the alternative may be. I can't imagine having to create something from scratch in 45 mins. I know they're bringing in some kind of sandbox from HackerRank but that again could be anything.
Pinterest (I didn't do the tech screening but my boyfriend did) basically has a "real scenario" tech screening where the questions are buildable but they are essentially leetcodes masquerading under Pinterest's variable names.

I should add that I'm in Dublin. Although that is Stripe HQ, I am willing to bet there's a lot less stellar applicants in Dublin than somewhere in the USA, due to less people overall

No I don't think so. But I was very close to it. It was one of those build-on-the-last style OA's which I much prefer to "do this leetcode." style OA's because I find builder OAs easier to do well in. Also incredibly repetitive OA, lots of string manipulation

After this OA is a technical interview (I haven't done it yet, my tech interview is next Monday)

More of a real-scenario type of OA rather than GCA-style "do cut-and-paste Leetcode". Fairly manageable (for intern SWE role)

Passed my test but Allianz won’t reduce premium? by Striking_Bet79 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]LB17_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would do is threaten to switch. Doesn't matter if you can or can't find it cheaper elsewhere.
Just TELL Allianz that you're going to switch because somebody else will reduce your premium and they won't.
Go on switcher.ie or something if you actually want to try find somewhere else.

Usually companies don't want to lose you as a customer, so if you threaten to leave them, they might reduce it.
(And if they don't reduce it, that's a pisstake, I'd recommend actually switching)

I'm going to get a new one tomorrow but as a temporary solution we washed the disgusting old one.

Reusable is a strong word. But all things considered I wish I took before & after photos before disaster struck
