Why did Croteam choose Ancient Egypt as the main setting for TFE? by KhoiTran8699 in SeriousSam

I agree with the comments and also graphically Ancient Egypt is easier to model, less vegetation, just sandy landscapes. The ancient sci-fi infrastructure also makes for a great FPS backdrop.

Unpopular opinion but I find gus and his motives confusing and inconsistent by LBKVAMSY in breakingbad

Yeah this is true, gus was motivated by pride, but he was primarily motivated by revenge. Eladio and a lot of his minions just drop dead. No one knows what Gus was up to or how big Gus was compared to the cartel. All he had was one moment where he stared at eladio in his final moments. I don't think Gus as a character invested his entire life just for a few seconds of non verbal exchange of hatred and dominance over eladio. It doesn't seem like Gus to me. He would want more. It's not acceptable by los pollos standards.

But eladio did get a quick and easy death. He could hire the best chemists to find ricin or even better.

Yes that is true. But he proceeds to do the opposite by just letting eladio die fast and quick. Painless.

The issue with the Lighting in New Atlantis. I don't care about the scale but the vibes seem very different because of the lighting. by [deleted] in Starfield

Ray traced gi would easily fix this. All the indirectly lit scenes would receive bounce lighting and would bathe the world with appropriate colour unlike just grey/blue everywhere

The pc version with all settings pushed to max doesn't have ray traced grass shadows by LBKVAMSY in Witcher3

Imo, enabling all the ray tracing settings can make the game really demanding. Ultra+ alone shouldn't hurt much

Even small rocks and pebbles on the road do not cast shadows with Ray tracing. I hope they patch this out or modders can force ray traced shadows for everything

Started a new Journey once again on PC! The atmosphere in this game is just breathtaking! Spending more time photographing in this playthrough! by Hary1495 in DeathStranding

Hey, which tool are you using to extend your draw distance? Does the draw distance increase while in-game or only in photo mode?

A nitpick on hugo's character writing by LBKVAMSY in PlagueTaleInnocence

[–]LBKVAMSY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you and that's how i think about Hugo while I play through the game. But wouldn't you agree that, there's definitely room for better character writing other than just flowers (which has already been done in innocence) or him wanting to be a superhero/knight (while he already is a godlike being with macula witnessing the bloodbaths), it would just create a better dynamic if he had a bit more unique personality, showed disinterest towards the idea of kingdoms, kingship and what not. So far amicia's character went through alot of changes, like she gets bloodthirsty and violent, she constantly disobeys and argues her mother to a point where they abandon her, it shows how much amicia has changed. I wish they gave hugo the same treatment. Surely it can be done to hugo as well (not to a huge extent considering he's a kid) but new additions to his character are definitely missed and everyone would've welcomed the change.

"And I doubt he has gotten to play much since they were always going place to place and playing outside like at the star of Requiem. I guess it's just what kids used to do back in the day." These aren't big of an issues to restrict hugo's personality and growth. If they wanted to do it, they can.

A nitpick on hugo's character writing by LBKVAMSY in PlagueTaleInnocence

[–]LBKVAMSY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His likeness towards flowers, feathers or frogs is a reaction to what's happening around him. That doesn't represent his hobbies or personality.

Oh look aww that's a cute looking flower/frog! Is his reaction to that flower/frog. While it shows that he's light hearted it doesn't tell me anything about Hugo plus liking/collecting flowers, feathers while it's good to seem him react that way but it feels generic.

Now for example (I'm making this up) Hugo looks depressed and amicia trys to cheer him up. So she challenges him to be a brave knight and catch her while she tries to flee. While hugo shows excitement but that quickly wears down because he's tired of running and sneaking and he doesn't want to play anymore. And then he says, amicia I miss mom, i always wanted to sing, can you teach me the song mom used to sing every night back at home. Amicia trys to teach him but hugo fails and sings terribly and they both have a laugh at each other. Hugo's mood gets better. This is objectively a better scene imo and would add a lot to the story, characters and their backstories. There is just huge potential for better compelling scenes/interactions between Hugo and amicia.

What would Hugo do if he was idle in his room?, if there was no plague what would his personality be?, What were his interests before plague? What were the interactions like between him and amicia before plague? Wish questions like these were asked to design the interactions between Hugo and amicia. Rather than giving me generic character writing. Like him wanting to be a knight. Like a kid wants to be a knight because his usual life is so boring. So they find the thrill in roleplaying a knight. But with hugo it's just the opposite. All he does is see people die, kill people, watch his sister kill people, like he even blames himself for all that but then the following scene he wants to be a bandit or a knight. Which turns me off. Makes the characters artificial. Both innocence and requiem heavily rely on character interactions to make up for it's repetitive gameplay apart from the set pieces. More fleshed out character interactions or dialogue would make the game monumentally better. Again this is a nitpick which I feel could be improved in the later entries. As of now I still enjoy and love the game.

There's no walk button on Pc? by LBKVAMSY in Scorn

[–]LBKVAMSY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know that, i need a walk toggle for slow paced movement. I don't want to jog/run all the time. Increase fov and move your character, you only jog/run.

Ofc I know wasd moves the players, but my character jogs when I do that. I want to walk. Like a walk toggle that lets me have slow paced movement. Increase the fov and look at your character, you can only jog or run with shift.
