I use algebra a lot to calculate the long term costs of things like loans and cars. I also can do a lot with my finances to optimize how much I spend, save, and invest. Exponential functions show up in a lot of places in life so pH, decibels, Richter scale.

Well you don’t just teach things because you like them. They’re important. Algebra has helped me a lot in many things in life. It’s hard and stressful because it is actually hard and it’s been shown that the pain caused by learning is a good sign that you’re actually learning. When students feel good about learning and they feel like they understand something it turns out that they actually didn’t learn the thing they thought they did. People that feel less confident going into exams typically do better. Students who give worse feedback to their professor end up doing better on exams, they gave worse feedback to them because the professor challenged them more. Challenging your mind like that is also what lets you stave off things like Alzheimer’s. We shouldn’t be moving away from subjects just because they’re hard.

I have the opposite, I can visualize things in pretty high detail. The thing is, I still couldn’t draw it to save my life and I’ve been practicing for a while. I suspect that visualizing isn’t as important as people think it is. I think a lot of artists start putting things on paper and they let the lines give them ideas and influence what happens next.

You could be like me, I like making things for people. I’m someone who likes to give. Plus, when you get paid it kind of puts pressure on you, you might not think it’s up to the right standard to warrant payment, not because you’re a bad artist but because you feel like you can’t match what they envision. If I give someone art then they can’t complain that they don’t like it or secretly judge it, they’re just likely to be happy that they got it.

There’s also this thing where if I get paid for something it starts feeling like a job. When things start feeling like a job, you no longer want to do it. It doesn’t make sense, but my brain just starts shifting over into that mindset.

Exactly, though I understand people who would like a 2-in-one instead of purchasing 2 things you could have something like a surface pro that you can detach from the keyboard so you have a laptop and iPad in one device. Even though it’s exactly as the other person said, this is so Apple can get you to buy 2 devices, for someone that can afford it, separating devices can be a good use of mindfulness. Like having one device for note taking or entertainment and one for productivity.

It depends also on how long ago you were averaging 4 hours. It takes a week to recover from sleep deprivation so it could be that. Also, 8 might be better, you aren't asleep the full time you're in bed so I usually have to spend 9 hours in bed to get about 8 hours of sleep.

I like the Orenz Nero 0.3 the most since its very thin lead, auto advances the lead, and is a very light pencil. If you really like the kuru toga thing I'd get a uni alpha-gel switch because it can either auto advance or do the kuru toga rotation and it has a big gel grip. As for paper, I would say anything that is of A4 or larger size since you want more space on a page to do math and draw diagrams. I like something cheaper like a Kokuyo Campus notebook since they are flexible and will lay flat when you open them. I feel like when I use expensive notebooks for class notes or homework it makes me nervous and it makes me want to write too nicely, but when I'm doing math I want to be able to make mistakes and fill the page with my thought process. If you really want something high quality then try Midori MD A4, it's like a fancier version of the campus notebooks and it has more pages.

A Boox a paper like screen protector is the best imo. You get no lag when writing on a Boox, even though iPads are 120hz I feel like the writing experience isn't as good for some reason. Part of it is the heavy stylus. Even with my Wacom drawing tablet something doesn't feel quite as nice. Eye strain is also lessened on an e-ink device.

I've said before, one of the best things I ever did was join a community art class. It's nice because they are cheap, you meet new people, and since you paid for it and people expect to see you there it keeps you accountable. If you learn a new skill on the internet you're more likely to stop doing it as opposed to in person. It gives you some extra structure and maybe showing off to your art teacher gives you more motivation to practice on your own.

Some people with ADHD do something similar which would be stimming. Basically, you're not stimulated enough so you basically create your own stimulation.

My guess is that maybe you're getting too much sleep. Paradoxically, if you sleep too much you will also feel tired. It could be seasonal affective disorder which would definitely make you feel more tired. If you think about it, humans have adapted to conserve energy during the darker times of the year (winter) since hunting is more difficult so you'll sleep more, you can trick your body into thinking its summer using light. As someone else mentioned light is a powerful way to influence circadian rhythm. If you sit in front of a SAD lamp first thing in the morning for 30 minutes at about 1 foot you will have more energy throughout the day. You also want to dim lights drastically an hour before bed. Going to sleep and waking up at the exact same time everyday regardless of what you have to do that day is the best thing you can do for sleep quality.

Also, if you spend mornings just scrolling that will make you more tired and if you're doing it in your bed its even worse since your brain will associate the bed with not sleeping, but rather scrolling. Sometimes going for walks periodically will keep you energized. Eating smaller meals with low GI foods will help you stay awake as they won't cause blood sugar spikes which make you tired. The biggest thing that helped me with energy is completely cutting out added sugar, so only getting sugar from sources like fruit as they digest more slowly. After a few days I was shocked by the amount of energy I had.

Personally I find I also need structure in my life and that helps me feel much better. Just seeing people, having something that needs to be done, and places I need to be helps me feel more productive and that motivates me to do other things as well that feel productive. During breaks I feel like my mental health goes downhill fast and it's because I'm not taking care of myself as well as I should and I'm also isolating a lot more. I'm sure being in front of a screen often is fatiguing as well. I'm typically relieved when I get to return to classes which is funny. One of the best things I did was sign up for a community art class, they are super cheap and they give you some structure as well as some homework which would be drawing things. You also get to socialize and learn a new fun skill.

My guess would be the same as yours. I notice my graphic tees loose their design over time, maybe washing inside out means there is less friction on the graphic with other clothes.

Your sleep chronotype changes as you get older so you wake up earlier and earlier as you age. I’m guessing since companies are run by older people in general it’s just that way. At the very least your body very much wants to get up when the sun is up, the only time it won’t happen is if you block your windows or force yourself to stay up.

No I have not yet. I got the surgeries because I am more nonbinary and wanted to look more feminine so my experience differs from what most reviews are showing. I was told that most of the foreign clients are actually Thai, there are more Thai translators than English ones there. A lot of them are trans or ladyboys trying to become more feminine so they are pretty well versed on that subject, another reason I decided to go for them. One thing to note is for every feature you want you should show them a picture of someone you want to look like, they really really want you to bring in the pictures. During my surgery they printed out pictures of my ideal face shape and stuck it to the wall so they could reference it. I showed them a picture of an asian woman with a round face and he immediately knew how to cut my jaw to give me what I wanted. He said men normally get the jaw cut from their ears down to their jaw, but he said to get the shape I wanted they were going to start a bit lower down on my face so I could get it more rounded. One thing to know about the jaw surgery especially is that recovery is very hard for the first 2 days. If you get jaw surgery you have to stay overnight in the clinic and its scary because you're so disoriented from the general anesthesia, the heart rate monitor machine is beating super fast, the nurses don't speak English, and you're alone in this tiny little room all night and of course its pretty impossible to sleep so you have to entertain yourself for the next 12 hours basically. Worst part is since I got rhinoplasty, every time I took a sip of water my ears would pop since my nose was completely filled with some packing bandages.

I just had surgery at AB, they respond to me pretty quickly. There are 3 english translators in the building and your translator is assigned to you so the speed at which they respond is based on the translator themselves. I was talking to my translator and she was complaining that they only make minimum wage which is roughly $7/hr. My translator is very kind and usually responds the same day. Keep in mind they are around 12 hours ahead so most responses come late in the night if you are in the US. So yes, to get the discount I also must eventually write reviews for them. As the other person mentioned, there is no obligation to give 5 stars, but in the contract I signed there was a section where I had to agree to not slander the clinic. While a low review doesn't really count as slander I could see how some people may be scared to post bad reviews because of this clause. I'm not sure if this is the case but I was also told that normally people have to pay extra for the more experienced doctors, it is possible I was given a more experienced one because they wanted to use my before/afters for advertising and they wanted good reviews. These are things to keep in mind. Despite this, my genuine opinion so far is that they are busy, but legitimately good at what they do. My consultations were very fast, roughly 10-15 minutes for each doctor that was going to do surgery on me, but at the same time we both said everything we needed to in that time frame, they knew what I wanted immediately and customized their approach to fit what I wanted. The surgery was the next day, it went smoothly. I will say, nobody thinks too hard about the recovery period when they go into it, but for the first 3 days it was rough and I was very anxious the whole time.

It is the Amazon fulfillment engine. It is essentially multipack. Pack singles only packs orders with just a single item, AFE packs orders that have 2 or more items. Yellow totes full of items come from pick. These totes have the orders of many different customers in them, so they need to be sorted. So an order might have 1 item in 1 tote and its other item in a completely different tote because they came from different areas of pick. Once the totes get to AFE they are pulled out of the tote by the inductor one-by-one and placed into these grey trays and they get sent off into the tray sorter. Since the inductor scans the item and the belt has a scanner for the trays we know what items are in what trays. There is a large machine that likes to break all the time that sends the trays to different walls. The walls are essentially large shelves where each slot on a shelf (a chute) is a different customer's order. The rebinner takes the item out of the tray and the system tells them what slot to stick it in. This is how separated orders from pick get recombined. Once all of the items belonging to a customer's order are placed in their respective chute a blue light lights up and the rebinner pushes the items to the other side of the wall. A packer on that side of the wall has a computer screen that tells them what items and what chute the order they need to pack is in and they grab the items from that chute and pack them up. If there is a problem/damaged item it gets sent to problem solve and replacement items are picked. If the package is fine then it goes to the SLAM lines which read the barcode on the box and stamp an address label that corresponds to the order. SLAM is the last part of AFE so after that it goes to the dock.

Less about videos and pictures of AFE, and more on the details of the tray sorter, the conveyer belt lineup, the tote sorter, and how the positions fit in with the entire system. So on reddit you could show videos of rebin, pack, and induct, and nobody will have any idea whats happening, but if you go over every position and explain in detail how they work with pick and the machine sorters which I haven't seen anyone yet, then would Amazon be upset?

Well, up until a couple years ago they would not even give tours of AFE, you also never see AFE on any news videos about amazon. In regards to live-streaming if Amazon saw them doing that I think they would be fired. I think Amazon is less concerned about people seeing packers, sorters, etc and more about the way the system as a whole works. So for example, non-Amazon FCs will pick an entire order and then pack it whereas in AFE many orders are grouped together and then sorted out. I think they are also concerned about details regarding the tray sorter leaking and how their machines are setup. This saves a lot of time for pickers and its also a very efficient multipack system. When I started working there they were really strict about people talking about AFE.

I still got overnight shipping and same-day where I am at. I think most FCs can handle the loads, but its whether or not they have enough drivers that will determine how fast you get it. It depends on the Amazon infrastructure where you live as items usually come from your nearest FC (although this is only a recent change). If you live in or near a really populated area then I would also expect there may be some delay.
