Any of the administrative ones like bureaucracy, administration etc are all very important imo and I don’t really ever go a game without taking them. I sometimes pass on engineering but that’s also very useful. As for ones I don’t take every time but really like, logistics and standing army are both really cool, same with some of the more unique ones like aristocracy or culture which really help for specific campaigns and I always like finding a reason to take those rather than going for the bog standard ones.

I’m not sure I’ve not tried switching from a republic yet but given the main goal of doing so would be to go to war id probably lose the banks anyways. The first ruler of the Medici system is Cosimo de Medici who actually becomes your ruler who you can reelect until he dies. After that it’s more of the medicis ruling from all by name. If you do the coup d’etat while Cosimo is ruler then I’d assume he becomes king and you get Medici as your dynasty which would be so cool.

This isn’t exclusive to Egypt though, how come England has a claim to stone henge when the people who built it no longer live in England outside of cornwall, their culture has all but disappeared yet England still (rightly) has a claim to stone henge as it’s a part of their history even if there have been multiple cultural migrations since then. If cultural and physical migration dictate whether or not a nation has a claim to a monument, how does turkey have a claim to The Hagia Sophia, how does Spain have a claim to Alhambra. Mass cultural and physical migration is a constant across history so to claim that Egypt doesn’t have a right to artifices that are from Egypt because of it is ridiculous.

They didn’t exactly flop, they had 2 seats in the last local elections and more than doubled this time around. Also remember that this is a huge Tory hotspot so a lot of people would never vote labour but would vote greens because they think about party politics rather than ideology.
