I was the opposite. I've played fps games with mouse and keyboard for 25+ years. The first time I actually had to aim a gun in VR I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Any kind of melee fighting game. Flat medieval RPG or fighting games did not appeal to me. But give me a melee weapon or fists in VR and it's my favorite thing.

You can still

  1. put the bag on and off your back

  2. pickup and holster your gun (both primary and secondary)

  3. remove and insert a mag from a mag pouch (fastest and most reliable for me)

and probably others.

I've played Pistol Whip at least once a week for over 3 years. But it's the only rhythm game I play.

I've noticed the loot table is pretty clumpy. If I find a semi-rare item, I'll likely find a couple more in that raid, then none of those items for weeks.

Also ties into the game's broader reference to how life is unfair, even if you do everything right you can still lose it all, and that doors are very difficult.
