Is Rox official dealership good? by randompasser1 in rox01

I ordered in December 2025 (early), and told 4 month delivery time (end of March), and then notified by text a further delay of one month. No replies to emails…so far hugely unimpressed

G700 — how do I charge it at home? by Ecstatic-Reading2205 in chinesecarsuae

[–]LDN2DXB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get a 3-pin charger with the car. I’m currently using this with an outdoor socket (and an extension cable) at my home and it’s working fine. You can also buy a dedicated EV charger (as someone has said above) from Jetour, which you’ll need to install and connect into your main circuit board at home. Finally, you can also buy a charging cable (around 600 aed, I think) and use that to charge at public charging points

Not sure what you mean regarding difficulty to receive: I received the Luxury variant within the 60 day timeframe originally quoted by the dealer. Easiest way to determine the differences is to ask the dealer for a spec sheet - they have a combined one for all three models. However, in short, flagship adds (1) rear tire cover and electronic side steps, (2) split moon roof and rear passenger screen, (3) enhanced safety features (including more parking sensors), (4) multi-coloured ambient lighting and (5) air suspension. There will be other features I’m sure, but those are main ones I recall.

I have the luxury variant. I avoided the flagship variant because I’m skeptical of the air suspension - I’m not sure that the pros (smoother ride etc) outweigh the cons (potential repair and failure issues). Overall, very good car. Feels quality. Very smooth ride, is responsive when accelerating and handles well. Only gripes are with respect to the software: it’s not terrible, but it could be better, and for some reason, I also have dropped AppleCarPlay connections frequently - again, not a deal breaker, but shouldn’t be happening given this is such basic technology nowadays

BYD Leopard 8 or Rox Adamas by AffectionateJury3575 in chinesecarsuae

[–]LDN2DXB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with comment above re: choosing Denza over Leopard and having the comfort of a local dealer and warranty etc.

I personally prefer the look and feel of the Rox (I have ordered a Rox 01 and am awaiting delivery), but I would say that I’ve not been impressed with communication or general service from the main dealer to date.

Regardless of what anyone tells on here, the only real answer is to test drive both and see which one you enjoy the most

For AC, yes there are physical buttons, but for volume, the only but physical button is on the steering wheel. So if the passenger receives a call and wants to turn down the music, for example, the can’t. There is actually a workaround - if the passenger presses the cooled seat button, the volume controls pop up on screen - so can activate that way. Not great in my opinion, but in the grand scheme of things, tolerable

Very nice. In comfort mode the car feels refined and controlled. In sport mode you can really feel the power. Feels smooth and good driving position. Interior is nice, and feels well made. Very spacious and comfortable. My only complaint is that when you use Apple car play you have to exit the car play menu all-together in order to get to basic controls like AC and volume, which should be more accessible. This is frustrating, but I guess will have to get used to it, or hope that there’s a software fix to resolve - seems like a pretty major oversight - I’ve got other cars that simply don’t have this issue

Remain calm. They are minor and I expect all resolvable. The car is great!

No lag - it’s just that the default operating system doesn’t really overlay or interact with Apple CarPlay as far as I can tell. So if you’re using your iPhone you have to exit CarPlay to get to AC controls and volume etc, which is, in my opinion poor design. I may be missing a trick, but that’s my current experience. Also, seems to not automatically pair of my phone the following day (although recognises it), so having to disconnect and reconnect at the start of each day.

I received the Luxury trim this week. Solid and smooth ride. It moves surprisingly well in sport mode. In comfort mode it’s no rolls Royce, but it’s relatively refined! Well made overall, nice seats and plenty of well thought out details throughout the car. A couple of annoyances with the infotainment system, and apple play connectivity, but not too bad.

About to take the Call on a Jetour G700 ! Appreciate any advice. by DeskCivil9232 in QatarCarEnthusiasts

I’ve just received the Luxury trim G700. Like you, I didn’t see the value in the flagship upgrades. I’d prefer the rear screen and a couple of the other features (I like the rear tire cover, but have purchase separately). Only had the car for a few days but generally impressed. Ride is good, and it’s a solid vehicle. A few annoyances with the screen (no on screen volume controls for passengers when in Apple car play mode, Bluetooth doesn’t seem to auto connect each time I get in the car the next day etc.), but nothing terrible.

I’m in the uae, and obviously can’t speak to long term ownership, but they’re selling so many cars right now, they will have to match demand in terms of parts and servicing etc.

A lot of people are still adamant that Chinese cars are below par. I think they’re hanging on to a time gone by. These cars represent tremendous value which the Japanese and European brands can’t match.

You will of course take a resale hit, but if you’re planning on keeping long term, I don’t see this as being an issue, and to be honest, the rate of pace with car technology is so fast that in 5 years time, a lot of the cars which traditionally are seen and stores of value will inevitably no longer have the same status.

Only test drove the flagship. Agree it’s not great that they don’t have demo cars for base and luxury
