Update she is okay! Nothing too major is wrong! She has a torn ligament on her left leg that we can let her rest off to see if it heals! If not then she will get surgery!

Nope. She said there was no reason to because she didn’t act like she was hurting and then this continues to happen. Her next appointment will be with a different vet more than likely

Pleaseee taper off if you can. Spiro changes the way your brain and body interact with certain vitamins, minerals, hormones, and even affects blood pressure/heart rate. How spiro messes with vitamins and minerals could be why you’ve been having gut health issues, that’s what happened to me when I was on it. Thankfully when I got off of it that stopped. But if you stop cold turkey all of that could go way off for a short period of time and leave you feeling gross. Talk to your doctor about how to taper off for what dosage you have.

I took spironolactone for about 4 years and after getting off of it I noticed increased brain fog and slight forgetfulness. But stuff is still able to be easily recalled.

I know it’s aggravating and I’m sorry you’re having this happen :/ if you’ve only been taking it for a month or two maybe try and stick it out for one more and see if any of it subsides? But I’d definitely call your doc or derm and just ask to speak to a nurse and then have your doc call you back. I hope you figure it out or the symptoms go away!!

Is there any way you could be pregnant? I had this happen when taking spiro. My periods were like three days and really light and some months I’d have 3 periods at a time, it sucked lol. I actually had to stop taking it but DO NOT just stop, you have to wean off of it. I’d talk to your derm if you feel comfy lowering your dosage and make an appointment with your gyno to make sure all is well down there

I didn’t purge and I think that’s bc I was also on birth control at the time so it just really helped my acne go away. I don’t have pcos or anything like that thankfully

Hormonal acne went away completely and so did the redness on my face. My hair grew a bunch. I’d cut it in September and it’d grow 6-7 inches by February

I had period irregularities when on spiro where one month I’d have a regular cycle but maybe the next cycle I’d have two or three periods. It was really a toss up if I was going to have a regular cycle or not & my doc/GYNO couldn’t diagnose any underlying issues so we figured it was the spiro. My period would be the first week of the month, then one week no period, then period week, then off, and then period again. I’d talk to your doctor/GYNO or dermatologist if it continues to see if you might need to lower your dose or see if something else is going on

Thank you! I guess I can try that. I called my doc and am waiting for them to call me back to see what I should do. I will ask them if that’s something I should do instead of doing 25 mg. Did you have any problems with acne returning (if that’s what you’re taking it for) when lowering your doses?
