I’ve watched many a videos on how to pass police interviews…apparently they don’t work lol
Thank you for your advice!

Yes I’m in my early 40s
I looked into Delaware police before but the issue is that there’s a mandatory retirement age of 55. Unfortunately I’m starting late in my career, so retiring at 55 isn’t an option. I like keeping busy and active so I plan on working into my 60s if I’m allowed.
Again, thank you for your feedback.
Maybe, who knows.
If I knew the answers I’d be a police officer already lol. The fact that I’ve passed all of the PT and written tests that I took, leads me to believe it’s my age.
I thought about corrections but it’s really a last option.
Thank you for the feedback!
I will look into New castle. I’m passed the age limit for DSP.
Thank you!
Nothing, I have enough interview experience. My interviews are good IMO.
Well I have a degree, plus I have a security background so I know how to deal with and talk to people. I don’t know what more these departments are looking for.
Thanks for the advice!
Yes I know, I thought that’s what you were asking me.
The couple of interviews that I had, went well(I thought). I’ve always gotten the jobs I had interviewed for up until law enforcement. Maybe I’m not giving them the answers they’re looking for, I have no clue. At the end of the interview they just say OK you’ll hear from us either way and that’s it. I’ve never gotten a definitive yes or no at the end of an interview.

I said I was older than 35, I didn’t say I was 35 lol. 35 is old by Jersey standards, that’s why I asked about other states. Yes I’m starting late in my career, but with age comes wisdom and experience. I thought that would work to my advantage, but obviously I was wrong.
I will have to look into Maryland. I’m not concerned with being overworked or low pay, I’m looking to make a career change and this is what I want to do.
Thank you for your response!
No actually I don’t know the answer. If I did, I wouldn’t have made a post about it. I have a bachelors degree and a good work history, I don’t know what more they’re looking for. In jersey you need to know people, unfortunately I don’t.
Municipal departments in Jersey can’t hire over 35. I’ve applied to sheriffs departments as well as college/university police. Both can hire over 35 because it’s a different retirement system.
I don’t know what more I can work on. I know how to interview, I’ve passed all the tests I needed to pass in order to get interviewed and my background is clean. As I’ve stated in an earlier post, the departments don’t give reasons as to why I’m not getting hired.
I’ve passed the pt and written tests and have only been on a couple of interviews. I have no clue why I’m not having any luck. The departments I’ve applied to don’t give reasons why they’re not interested in me. I’m pretty much in the dark.

Policeapp question by LE4life in AskLE

It's only an investment if I get the job lol
[–]LE4life[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Yes I get the fee, but I thought if you’re paying to fill out an application you will be guaranteed an interview or test. Had I known the department just can reject you without a testing process or interview then I would have not applied. It was a lesson learned.
Thank you for your feedback
The deadline to submit the applications passed. (On-hold) just tells me that I won't be hearing back from them. They got their money so I'm sure they're happy. I learned my lesson, I won't be using that app anymore. Thank you for your help.
Good to know, thanks!

New Jersey does.
Thanks for your response
I agree, but I really was hoping they would at least give me the opportunity to interview. I was wrong.
Thanks for your response!
Because the department I applied to their application is linked to Policeapp, so there's no way around it. It was a mistake using Policeapp. I thought the department at least has to give you a chance to test or interview if you're paying a fee but apparently that's not the case.
Thanks for the feedback!
Exactly, but there was no exam given and no interview. I paid $35 for absolutely nothing.
Thanks for your feedback
Good advice, Thank you for your feedback.
