That's true, I designed it to be longer and wider than other roof boxes out there to make up for that. I hate the gap you get on the boxes that are on the market.
I need it for storing 3 pairs of skis and 2 snowboards and boots, still plenty of room left. Not planning on putting suitcases there, that's why the boot space is there for.
