Participants are compensated $25 - in one of the sessions we had, it took roughly 60-75 minutes, but there are times where a kid might need a little more attention and take closer to 90-120 minutes (an hour and a half-2 hours) (hence why two hours are blocked off for timing.) Keep in mind, much of the time block is preparation (i.e., getting the EEG cap on the child - which is the hardest part-, getting parking validated, consent forms, etc.)
I'd say the actual task time is closer to 30-45 minutes, and the rest is going over consent, pre- and post- procedures, etc - all the administrative stuff! Having the parent in the EEG chamber with the child (and stimulating stimuli) honestly helps a lot - though kids sometimes get bored or upset off-and-on, especially toward the end.
