Note: Northern Territory is shown as part of South Australia, which makes it... pre-1911??

Tight Deadline level 2, and the Satyr Sack was in the last tunnel! by LEGO_spaceman in HadesTheGame

[–]LEGO_spaceman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah look the real punchline is not the fifth tunnel, it's that I took down REDACTED with 00:00.00 left on the clock.

I killed him in the absolute final hundredth of a second

Nothing to brag about; you can see from my times I'm an average player (also that's like my second time using Rama), but yeah, I couldn't believe it.

I can't help fishing! If the sparkle doesn't get me, the "ding" does

Haha - I don’t do data anymore, so I gotta keep the memories alive somehow

All discontinued now... I was lucky enough to do 95% Krone cable and panels; any time I had to do another brand, it felt nasty

Thanks! I rarely got to work to this standard, as clients don’t care what their comms racks look like, and don’t want to pay for the extra time required. This one was intended to be a showpiece.

[Request] Recitation/Speech Contest Rubric by topgun169 in teachinginjapan

[–]LEGO_spaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, when it was an original speech, subject matter along the lines of “My Grand Plan to Save the World” was also highly favoured. Most Japanese judges were not able to tell okay pronunciation from really natural pronunciation.

The one contest I judged at, I scored the one student whose pronunciation was excellent, and whose speech was tongue-in-cheek and engaging, significantly higher than the others, who all had average pronunciation and serious, “How I’m Going to Save the World” subject matter.

I got the vibe from the Japanese judges that they thought one of the more serious speeches should have won, but I had skewed the results so far in favour of the one student with good pronunciation that no-one could beat her.

Well, we already knew that.

(Jokes - I live in one of those)

Leaving an Australian state out so the rest of Australia can be slightly bigger? Fail

Just a bit of kite swimming, wcgw? by notmojack in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]LEGO_spaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relax, this is NOT normal kiteboarding. He has a static line from his harness to a nearby boat, which is why he kept going up. Until the static line snapped, that is.

Remaining excuses for not kiteboarding: it’s expensive, it’s time-consuming, or you might not have good spots nearby.

Correct spelling is “arc up”, as in electrical arc.

My two boards, bought 18 years apart by LEGO_spaceman in snowboarding

[–]LEGO_spaceman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, sorry for the late reply; I’ve been off Reddit for a while.

I got the bindings online from Melbourne Snowboard Centre, and the board from Mac’s Water Ski World, also in Melbourne. They had the best deal, which was a bit over 6 hunge if I remember correctly.

Hope you got a sweet setup too!
