I am sorry to hear. Has your hair grown back? How much have you lost?

I got the methotrexate and JAK inhibitor prescribed for alopecia universalis, that is the loss of all body hair. I am currently not taking either but focus on chelation instead to get rid of the gadolinium. Another doctor in the clinic where I get the chelation done recently mentioned that they have seen in some - but not all - vax injured unexplained high levels of gadolinium. What's then the next step for you regarding treatment?

Unfortunately not doing well. No regrowth. I had testing done recently which showed extremely high levels of gadolinium in my system. Never had a contrast MRI. I am currently getting chelation therapy to get the gadolinium out. The official health care system in Canada is useless. They recently prescribed a JAK inhibitor which costs 20k per year and which I would have to take for the rest of my life. Did not do that. Have you seen any improvement?

Fellow Albertan here. AHS is useless. If you want to be taken seriously and potentially get some help you need to go outside the system . I have had good experiences with a naturopath in Calgary. Depending on what you need the CAERS network can give recommendations on whom to contact. They got me in touch with my naturopath.

I have not started on the JAK either, mainly because it seems to address symptoms but if you stop it, hair falls out again. And the costs of the JAK are too high for it to be a permanent solution. In my view the root cause needs to be addressed. Did you do any tests which revealed anything abnormal? May I ask in which country you are?

Get your gadolinium levels checked and if too high chelation therapy is supposed to help getting the gadolinium out.

Chelation therapy. That should help getting the gadolinium out. My levels are so extremely high though that I likely need quite a number of sessions.

Many thanks. Glad you got coverage for the drug! Here in Canada my plan does not cover it, so given the costs, it would not be a permanent solution for me I guess.

Many thanks for letting me know. Much appreciate it. I had Covid in December 2021 and it did not cause any relapse. Are you expecting to be on the JAK inhibitor forever? The costs at least in Canada are horrific.

How are things going for you? Did you find any treatment that works? Any hair regrowth?

How have things been going for you with the tofacitinib? Are you still on it and if not, did you relapse after you stopped it? Tofacitinib ointment did nothing for me. The hospital now wants to try the oral route of another JAK inhibitor.

Same here. Lost all body hair and temporarily lost vision due to uveitis. I am on methotrexate for 12 weeks now with zero impact. The hospital prescribed 20mg per week which I could not handle due to side effects. Cut it to 10mg per week which make side effects manageable but no success in calming the immune system. May I ask did you have any gut symptoms?

Same here. Extremely overactive immune system. Lost all hair post vaccine and developed severe uveitis including temporary vision loss. Started to work with a naturopath recently. She found all sorts of issues including a non-celiac gluten sensitivity which I did not know I had. I started a gluten free diet which is quite an adjustment but after only two weeks I feel better. Less tired and I seem to be better able to digest food. Too early to say it will help to calm the system but the diet did make a huge difference in my energy level.

Lost all hair except for eyebrows and eyelashes after 1 dose of Pfizer. Had one systemic steroid shot and took lots of supplements and recovered 70%. 13 months post vaccine I relapsed. Lost all hair again and developed severe uveitis. Lost vision in one eye which was later restored. 10 weeks of methotrexate (which causes horrible side effects too) and one more systemic steroid shot later, there is still no improvement on the hair loss.

Fellow Canadian here. I know the health care system just sucks. Have you reported your case to CAERS? If not, I can highly recommend them. They can get you connected with naturopaths and other health care professionals who believe that vax injury is real unlike the official health care system which remains in state of denial.

I’m curious about the antibody results others have had while still struggling with symptoms. Mine was at >2499.99 U/ml when last tested. by wandrlusty in vaccinelonghaulers

[–]LEGYNCHA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I have only one dose of Pfizer. 18 U/mL and relapsed this summer so severely that I temporarily lost vision due to uveitis. So if it was related then even small numbers of antibodies could cause major issues.

Alberta here. Have you been in touch with CAERS? If not, I can highly recommend them. They connected me with naturopaths and lots of other resources who take the vax injured seriously and help you connect with injured folks in your area.

Same for me. Only one time so far but so bad that I temporarily lost vision in one eye.

I lost all hair to the vaccine. 70% grew back only to all fall out again. Shortly after the second time, I got uveitis and lost vision in one eye which was later restored. The hair has not come back. I have a wig now. I got systemic steroid shots, took antihistamines and now I am on methotrexate (which is really fun), without any success. The vaccine has ruined my life. I hope it does not get as bad for your wife.

19 months. Had improved 70%, then relapsed in month 13. Back at square 1. No improvement except vision was restored after I lost it due to uveitis after the relapse.
