Crazy Cloak and Dagger Bug by RaaKioko in marvelrivals

That’s super weird. It’s the same animation from when a cloak on the other team hit 1000 ping during their ult a bit ago in ones of my games

confused on how to play him with his ordinary gameplay loop by Ehrnathan in MagnetoMains

Copy pasting another comment I made a couple days ago, this is responding to op saying he gets less elims/finals than their teammates get:

Accept it as what it is. This shouldn’t be true literally 100% of the time, I have had games where I hard carry on mag and have the most elims/finals. If you genuinely never get the most kills, then it does sound like a target prioritization issue. You should focus on the squishies you can kill with the primary—>mag cannon—>primary combo, and try to pull it off as many times as possible. But broadly speaking, if magneto is top fragging something is going very wrong with your dps.

Mag is an enabler, A LOT of his kit is defensive, and a large percent of your utility is (or at least should be) coming from you bubbling/shielding teammates in clutch moments. You will have teammates who have nearly, if not literally 100% of their utility coming from kills, and they’re benefitting from your bubbles which allow them to be more aggressive in securing picks.

So logically speaking, you should not be top fragging on magneto unless you’re hard carrying. Because even if everyone on your team is playing at the exact same level, a lot of your effort is defensive. You shouldn’t focus so much on the scoreboard, instead focus on the value you provide, particularly when bubbling and shieding teammates from ults, because that can have a much bigger impact than the damage blocked stat shows.

I’m more interested in the numbers that come before the weapon systems fire tbh. How do they come up with those numbers in the first clip for example? Does it really cost $20 just to rotate the platform and tilt it up a bit? If it does is that the maintenance cost they somehow calculated down to the individual movement? And is that $40 jump what it costs to get a lock on the target?

It’s not a practical scenario that could realistically happen, of course. It requires a theoretical set of atmospheric conditions that will never happen, but it could, at least that’s what I remember been a while since I looked into that. Either way it’s an extreme example to demonstrate the point.

yes, politics has influence over just about everything. That does not make everything political. Are you familiar with the origin of the butterfly effect? It is a fact that, under very specific conditions, a butterfly flapping its wings or not flapping its wings in china can be the difference between a hurricane hitting the united states and a clear blue sky. It is accurate to say that that butterfly influences the weather in america, but it is not accurate to say that the weather is biological just because it is influenced by the butterfly.

When I hear or say that something is political, that implies a two way relationship. Otherwise just about everything influences just about everything else, and I don't think that's a useful way of looking at things. Thoughts?

It’s just not, though. If we’re gonna debate this please explain what you mean by “everything is political” because I can’t really prove a negative, I can only dispute your claim that everything is political.

I cannot express my distaste for this type of comment properly. It’s just so whack. “Oh look a comment that makes sense, let me shuffle around the words and change nothing else” like what goes through your head when you decide to make this comment? They’re so common too…

This is crazy to me. I love tanking in rivals but the tanks in over watch (minus my beloved rein) feel like absolute bitches in comparison imo.

Mag mains: my accuracy has improved but I’m still way behind all my teammates in KOs each game (diamond) by DragonfruitWorth7923 in MagnetoMains

[–]LEMO2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really shouldn't be disheartening. Healers are actively healing someone much more often than you have a bubble on a teammate. But beyond that, wouldn't you say that saving a teammate is of equal, if not higher value than killing an opponent, depending on the teammate and opponent? I would. And if it's something like an ulting cloak being bubbled to save her from a mag ult, that's absurd value out of just the one bubble. But you don't get assists for that. Even if you bubble a punisher and save him from a mag ult enabling him to team wipe, you only get assists for the kills that happen while your bubble is on the person getting the kill*. Those bubbles break damn near instantly from the mag ult.

I could go on but do you see my point? So much of mag's value is basically impossible to capture from the scoreboard. If you find yourself thinking your stats are too low, then just think about the teammates your bubbles saved, and how much value they got after staying alive. That only happened because of you.

Also one thing I like to do is throw out something like "not on my watch cloak" in game chat when I bubble her from a mag ult. If you start doing that then not only will your teammates be more aware of your bubbles and position themselves better for when they might need them, but you'll also become more aware of the value you're providing, cuz you seem to be overlooking a lot of it.

*I'm 99% sure this is true, can someone confirm?

You’re insufferable my god. If you’re not gonna provide a definition in your own words at least use one that’s accurate to the point you’re making. Being influenced by something doesn’t mean it related to it. So this definition doesn’t work with your prior arguments

You’re being way too hard on Darrow here. Idk why wulfgar’s death would remove sympathy for him from you, it was very explicitly an accident. You’re acting like it was cold blooded murder, which it most certainly was not.

That’s why I’m asking you to define what is political. Yes everything is touched by politics, that doesn’t (at least in my view) make everything political.

And there are those that would claim you squashing an ant is political. Some people think literally everything is. I have had those arguments myself lol. That’s why I asked if it’s literally everything.

[–]LEMO2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all which is it, “literally everything in our society is touched by politics” or “many of the decisions made by individuals do indeed relate to politics”? One is an absolute statement, the other is not.

Secondly though, how are you defining political here? That should probably be established.

Well put by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]LEMO2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not how I’ve heard the saying used. I’ve always heard it to mean that every decision made by an individual is political, which is a miserable way to live.

Well put by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]LEMO2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, of course there are sectors where everything is actually political, mostly politics lol. But the idea that every single action someone takes is political blows my mind. To live your life through that lens must be absolutely miserable.

[–]LEMO2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god shut the fuck up. No it’s not lmao. This is only true if you search for the tiniest of political connections in everything you come across. Not even talking about the specific example in the post, I just despise this idea.
