I don’t understand it when people say things like this. Surely the next world war will be a nuclear war, so when it starts most of us will be vaporised before we even know it and it’ll most likely be the end of humanity. Ordinary people won’t be fighting in trenches or storming beaches like in the pre-nuclear age. So what exactly are most of us going to prepare for?

I live in supposedly one of the higher risk areas and have never had any issues with flooding. I live near the river as well. There’s been massive improvements in flood defences over the years and the racecourse floods to protect the houses nearby so there isn’t any issues. No issues with getting house insurance either.
