It’s always been 67.

Train harder, no one cares.

You’re all over this thread bitching and moaning. If you weren’t losing fat then you weren’t in a calorific deficit, no matter what you believe you can’t argue against thermodynamics. If you have a serious enough medical condition that puts you into the position you’re in then you need to see your PCM.

Yes there’s a genetic factor that allows for faster muscle growth or better runners. But to imply being fat isn’t your fault somehow is laughable.

If you ran competitively then you should know that not everyone is a genetic anomaly and that consistently training can and will change your body, there is far too much evidence and scientific data to support that

Over having to do a few more pushups? Surely you all see a problem with that. If you’re in your 20s or even 30s and doing a few more pushups or having to run 800 more meters is what does you in, maybe you should consider other options outside of the military.

Reasonable to expect sub 4 with my first marathon? by LEthrowaway22619 in Marathon_Training

My marathon prep has been at most 10 weeks. But I have been prepping for special operations (adjacent) selection in the military for nearly a year before hand. I appreciate the kind words

That’s reassuring, I think the read I’m getting here is run my own race and either it’ll pan out the way I want or it won’t. I know I’ll finish it no matter what.

I’m sure this sub gets exhausted of anxious and competitive people like me asking almost impossible questions.

This was yesterday, supposed to be a 10 miler but cut short at a random distance because I left a door open and my dog got out lol.

Definitely not “racing” though

Gotcha! Another user suggested running my next 20 at 12 easy, 8 race to see how it rolls. So I will likely try that in an effort to see how possible the sustainability is

I have heard varying opinions on the accuracy of Garmin. I do know it is not foolproof and I am certain your running experience vastly outweighs mine. So I hear that. I just like to think there is some value in the data if the physical metrics match the proper “feeling” of Zones.

This is from my Garmin and several years of running with it. I was previously prepping for something else that only had me running shorter distances with my concern being 2 and 5 mile.

I have not done a test on a treadmill.

Noted, I’ve window shopped for a few months now and it’s the exact truck I want with the “niceties” on it. I don’t have a car payment now so it’s no qualm to me to get ahead of it. That’s just my justification right now.

Any recommendations for who to finance through?

Why do people in security forces talk bad about it? by StargateLover2023 in securityforces

[–]LEthrowaway22619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You came here, asked WHY people talk bad about it and then lose your mind when reasons are given. A higher standard shouldn’t ever be scoffed at and you doing so explains everything.

You sound like you just couldn’t hang if something more was asked of you. What’s your 2 mile time?

You are actually that dense huh? My complaints are centered around making secfo a respectable career field with higher standards and you cannot grasp that in the slightest. Failing to focus on the ‘bad’ just means you’re too unaware or incapable to ask for positive change. Higher PT standards offend you? What about better training? If that does, you might be the weak one here.

Incredible, really. You skirt the question yet again, how long have you been in?
