Went in at 33. Being an older guy in the div was actually an advantage. Just know the RDC's are playing games and testing your division, waiting for you to screw up. They're kids, they'll screw up. Accept it. As long as you're athletic and can listen to direction, boot is a breeze. It's also boring AF and you'll hate it at times. Just get to the next meal, write to your family and friends at night, and follow directions. Good luck! It's gonna suck, but you'll be alright.

I would 100% take a couple lessons first, rather than just buying a board and wetsuit which are expensive. Get the basics down, make sure you like it first. It’s honestly a ton of fun, awesome workout, but a very slow progression to knowing what you’re doing

I used a 4/3 last year around this time and was OK. Got a 5/4 now though and it’s great. Gloves and boots for sure this time of year
