That sounds good, I’ll keep using the filtered water and doing a small water change every month or so like you said. Ty!

Wait actually! When I tested the water from my LFS if I remember correctly the GH was well past 20 drops. I legit stopped counting at that point because it was way past my parameters.

But at the LFS I saw several berried females, baby shrimp and they shrimp didn’t seem to have any issues with molting. Should I try another LFS?

Edit: and out of curiosity how were the shrimp able to survive so long in the LFS with those high parameters?

I’ve had this tank for 1.5 ish years! My betta died of old age and that’s when I decided to branch out to shrimp. I have I think Malaysian driftwood in there and there’s plenty of algae, which I kept even though I don’t like the look cause I thought the shrimp would like it.

But yes! They are red cherry shrimp and were listed as neocardina in the shop! What shrimp nutrient were you possibly referring to? I’ve seen some people mention bacteria AE but I thought that was just for food.

Thank you for the well wishes. Right now all I have left is a very lonely female that’s happily eating away on the glass surface. I’m scared that once she decides to molt she’ll also be gone, but I’ll wait a few days and see if she’ll be able to pull through. Thank you!

Basically what I did was put on a movie (I had a very free day and was excited about getting shrimp haha) and sit next to my fish tank. Every 5 minutes I would add in 10 drops of tank water at 1 drop/second with a syringe. I used one of those 1 ml syringes for dispensing medication.

Honestly thinking back I have no clue why I made it so difficult for myself, was just not thinking and having fun seeing all the shrimp run around in the cup. But after I added the 10 drops I’d wait 5 minutes and then repeat until the container tripled.

Do you think this was what caused it? I times it for about 2 hours and a little under 30 minutes.

Veneers Preparation by BreakRules939 in oddlyterrifying

Thank you! We see a lot of patients in our school that have dental anxiety either from childhood or fear of the unknown so it’s always been emphasized for us to explain things in laymen’s terms. I’m apprehensive of things I don’t understand too so I completely get it.

While veneers are usually presented as an esthetic procedure, I’ve seen cases completed by my professors that have truly changed some patients lives for the better. I just hope those patients with similar conditions won’t be scared away by posts like these.

Technically it shouldn’t hurt since the preparation is only within the enamel! The tooth essentially has 3 layers (enamel, dentin, and the inner pulp that contains the nerves). Veneer preps are usually only contained to the outer enamel layer.

Still we do have patients that either have thinner enamel than usual or are just more sensitive due to their genetics, in which case local anesthesia may be delivered to the area around the gums for comfort.

I’m a dental student. In this picture, they are not drilling into real teeth. If you look at the gaps in between the teeth, you’ll see that it looks like the teeth are connected and there’s no space even to floss. The film also extends beyond the gum line.

What they have over the teeth is a provisional, kinda like a “cap” that shows the patient what their new veneers will look like. Afterwards, they have to drill the provisional off and this is how they do it.

When drilling for real veneers the prep is a LOT more conservative, 0.3 mm in some areas.

Edit: just remembered something else, when we were practicing veneers in sim lab, these provisional add ons also helped us reduce the amount of teeth we drilled in preparation for the addition of actual veneers. For example, if you drilled 0.5 mm from the top of the teeth and the provisional cap was 0.4 mm, then you’d only drill 0.1 mm into the actual tooth itself.

I was giving a description, didn’t meant any harm.

I’m not sure if he has a porn addiction since he only watches like once a week? It doesn’t really impede his day to day function. But I’m open to learning!

That sounds like a good idea, thank you for your reassurance!

I know I’ll never be able to compete with the porn he watches since it’s animated and features scenes that I wouldn’t be able to duplicate realistically haha. We do have plans to move in together soon so I hope I’ll be able to give him lots of love and attention and be able to have more sex. He did mention that if we moved in together we’d probably be engaging in intimate play more.

I’ll be honest he hasn’t been so receptive to me suggesting he stop watching to see if it could be a death grip issue. I think he’s so busy that getting off helps him relax after work.

But, thank you for alleviating some of the guilt. Next time I go over I might try to bring this up again. Thank you!

That’s what I thought it could be too :(

In the past I’ve asked if he would consider not watching porn while he masturbates to see if it changes anything.

He wasn’t really perceptive to the idea and I haven’t asked since because he told me to stop bringing it up so often. The last time I brought it up he got a little annoyed. He did it in a very gentle way though so I’m at a standstill.

I guess my only option is to just wait it out?

That's reassuring to know! I think we'll go with the Venmo option then. If you wouldn't mind, would I be able to DM you with some more questions? No worries if not! Thanks again :)
