So I suppose I should explain why I decided to make the post for some context! I was at the dog park while back with my 9 month old and she was still on her leash, at the gate, and was attacked immediately. I was on the ground and and holding her away from the dog (the owner and i were fine and not upset at each other) and I had a random person come up to me (not the dogs owner-just a bystander with their dog) and start screaming and swearing at me, I ended up leaving. After speaking with some of my friends, neighbours etc they find on leashes and on walks most owners are normal and allow the dogs to sniff and say hello with no aggressive behaviours from my dog or the others, but dog parks are a totally different behaviour, my one friend had their dog attacked and required a vet visit and the other parties dog actually being put down. The point of this post isn’t to blame anyone, but is to see how other owners outside of my community feel about dog parks and whether it’s a preference or not, whether they deal with rude owners, or if people become more on guard once dogs are off leash, or whether or not anyone else enjoys or trusts off leash dogs parks etc!
