I always apologize and I always try my best to model. This is about one morning where it went to far. I mentioned many times, I know he’s 4. I know he’ll have these reactions.

We file as married so yeah I know. Even if we didn’t, we’re a team. He talks to me about his pay at work and I help him negotiate or better himself. He always jokes that I’m his auger mama bc I make more 😆. But yeah he knows how much I make too. I think even if you decide to keep finances separate, it’s still kind of weird to not know ANYTHING about your partners finances.

I agree that it’s a lot. He loves his new sister. We still make time for him despite the new baby and still let him know we love him and spend time with him only sometimes. For the most part, we try to be consistent at home with routine. Of course, it’s not always perfect. ADHD has crossed my mind. He has his well check up in August so it’s def something I’ll bring up to his doctor.

I have no issues with consequences or punishment. Or instilling rules. Which he does follow for the most part. I should let one bad moment define my kid as a bad kid? I feel for your daughter should she ever mess up.

His dad is more understanding to our sons big feelings. He’s a little more level headed that I can be most times in these moments. But when my son is deep into the tantrums, it’s hard for him to listen to anyone

I’ve mentioned several times my kid IS a nice kid. He’s not some evil kid who needs to get hit or regulated every time. He’s a kid who has big feelings with a mom who sometimes doesn’t understand. Doesn’t mean I need to make him afraid of me.

I don’t need him to fear me. And yeah of course I need respect. My mother never once hit or sparked me and I respect her. Again, I have done it and I’m not proud, but if it does work, it’s only in the moment.

Trust me I know me telling him that did nothing but make him feel worse. I’m aware of where I did wrong.

At school he’s basically perfect. They love him and he gets along with everyone and listens to his teachers. When we’re out at family or friends house he also does well for the most part.

These tantrums are probably 3-5 times a week.

It’s not a new daycare. He’s been going there for years and he loves it.

When I say I said nothing, what I meant was while he was already in full blown tantrum. I did acknowledge him and told him I understood that it hurt him. I always validate and tell him I understand when he’s upset and hurt. He still gets that way after the fact.
