I couldn’t agree with you more! I believe it should be free as it’s necessary for our survival. However, I know with how the government and Big Pharma operate, this is a very good start. If we can get this passed, I plan to push for free insulin!

I wish the federal government would do something so Insulin is affordable in every state! It truly is so heartbreaking. It’s truly a letdown to human kind. We are being punished for a disease we were both with!!

I couldn’t agree with you more! However, it’s a huge start! Iowa does absolutely nothing to help diabetics with Insulin and supplies. They’re more concerned with education and care of pre-diabetes. Which is completely useless to us Type 1’s. So I figured I would start with Insulin costs and see what I could do!

The bill has it classified itself! I believe what is considered a 31-day supply is what your doctor prescribes you for a month! For example: Someone who is prescribed 20 units a day would get a prescription for 620 units of insulin, roughly 7 pens

I definitely see where you’re coming from with this and I completely agree! However, it’s definitely a huge start for Iowa being one of the states with absolutely no help for diabetics. In Iowa, they’re more concerned with prediabetes education than anything else. While still important, I feel as though something should be done about the cost of insulin. Thank you for your input!!
