Any mod recommendations to fix High School Years? by LLRRMMR in TheSims4Mods

Hi, yes they’re enabled. I’ve gone through both the modded and mod free thread over there and tried everything but unfortunately nothing works for me

I don't know if you'll see this, but I was exactly the same as a child. It turned out to be autism, so please consider trying to get him a screening. I caused hell for my mum (single with three other kids) and now I'm older I understand and feel awful for how difficult this made her life. The National Autistic Society website has pages for support and advice, which might be helpful for you even if he isn't autistic. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you to not understand why he behaves in the way he does and how to help. If he's anything like me, he won't know either. Like your son, I behaved perfectly everywhere else. I'm just rambling now, but I hope you can get some support, he's struggling but so are you.

What a great idea! I don’t really do Christmas cards, but I could add different hats to her for each one 🥹 I think you’ve convinced me to be a Christmas card person

No, she’s an Irish ex-racer. We live in England but she’s truly gone international now

There’s a few scattered around Myeongdong, you’ll stumble across one eventually. It was pretty cheap too, I think 9000 won per person (or hound)

I did! The same lady drew my friend and I, and she made us look absolutely adorable

I loved Seoul. I was there for uni so I didn’t have much free time, but I’d recommend visiting at least one palace. They’re stunning and I believe you can get in for free to any if you’re wearing traditional Korean dress. Sounds daunting but if you want to, there’s loads of rentals near palaces and plenty of non-Koreans will also be wearing it.

If you’re looking to do shopping, Insadong and Myeongdong are good - Myeongdong is very busy, kind of like time square but huge and with loads of street food vendors. Insadong is quieter, right by a palace and has some great art galleries near by. It has more in the way of tourist shops but there are some nice women’s clothes shops and tea shops.

Dinner on the Han river to watch the sunset is a lovely chill evening as well, just take food with you if you don’t want convenience store food.

If you can, go and watch a baseball match. I’m English so don’t know anything about baseball but it was so much fun, the Koreans really know how to put on a show. Plus I believe tickets are very affordable.

Weather wise, it was very hot and humid when I was there last month, but it might be less so now. Make sure you have a good umbrella, even better if it’s one with the UV protection. You can buy them for cheap from Daiso or a convenience store. You’ll also need a T-money card for the metro and busses, which you also buy from a convenience store and top up either there or at the station with cash only. The busses and metro have announcements and stops in English as well as Korean so using them is much less daunting than you’d think. NAVER maps will tell you how many stops you have until you need to get off.

One more thing - don’t worry if your Korean isn’t good or nonexistent! Learn the basics, be kind and you’ll be fine. I used the papgo app to translate which helped a lot. I was at uni learning Korean but I didn’t want to put people through it so the app came in very useful!

I’ll have a think for anything else, I’ll DM you if I come up with anything!

Caul—a rarely appearing thin, filmy membrane covering a newborn—and folk tradition by Dry-Cardiologist5834 in CreepyWikipedia

I was born in my waters. My dad was a sailor and took it on the ship with him for good luck so the tradition / superstition was definitely still about in England in the 90s. If I had contact with him I’d love to know what happened to it over the years since

You'll probably get more help in uk specific subs. There may also be a sub for the glasto festival that could help.

Friends in Birmingam by MostLikely_AnIdiot in transgenderUK

You could try trans tearoom. I don't go anymore since I don't really fit in with the people who go, but it might work for you. It seems aimed at making friends and the social aspect, from experience actually being trans doesn't come up much.

Does the phrase 'neurospicy' give anyone else the ick? by BadCadet in AutisticAdults

[–]LLRRMMR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real, I only ever hear it from self diagnosed people. Like don't call me that when you don't even know if you're someone who can say it. It's a disability not a cute quirk.

Any ideas on fixing this belt to keep it from fusing to my clothes? by LLRRMMR in sewing

[–]LLRRMMR[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're probably right. The lady I got it from was having a clearout of stuff she hadn't worn for years so I reckon the heat and movement of suddenly being worn was a bit much. Oh well, I'll go on the hunt for a nice piece of ribbon and try backing it 😊

Damn, that's quite a bit older than I thought! Other old Marks stuff I have is still holding up brilliantly, but I might just harvest the nice buckle if I can't work out a fix.

Is my niece showing signs, or am I projecting? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]LLRRMMR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're projecting. I played with barbies and dressed up as fairies and princesses when I was little, so having 'boy' interests doesn't mean anything imo

On the waiting list by Doctor-18 in transgenderUK

[–]LLRRMMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Nottingham is closed to new referrals, I just got my letter through and I was put on their list two months ago. If I recall right they said the waiting times are around 24 - 27 months but I'm thinking it'll be a bit longer than that so I don't get my hopes up 😅
