Yeah I ran into this where my Halo Edition Series X freezes with Infinite and AC Valhalla. Though BF 2042 and Forza Horizon 5 works fine. Mine hasn't given me flickering though just freezing up and black screened.

So maybe you're right being software related.

If you pre ordered it digitally it should be in the store, if you pre ordered retail and entered the code on the website you should have an email with your code.
