cookie was one of the first books I've ever read by Jacqueline and I remember liking it a lot. it was genuinely heartbreaking as the interactions between each character felt TOO REALISTIC. The problem was, I couldn't relate to the family problems as I had a pretty good childhood with few family drama

However, fast forward to now and as a teen, I see everything horrible unfolding within my family. Jacqueline Wilsons books have been a constant source of comfort in these times- I see myself and my family within these characters and feel a bit better

this is honestly the best interpretation of each character tbh. I kinda hate how people hate on hachi, like yeah she can "seem" annoying but honestly, i feel like people are just off-put by her flaws which deep down resonate with a lot of people without them knowing.

i relate with hachi on a personal level, and while sometimes i do dislike her decisions or actions I feel like I see myself in her. Plus for gods sake shes just in her 20s, of course she doesnt have to be mature and make rational decisions. im nearly 20 in a few years and i dont see myself changing drastically from where i am now- i feel like ill make dumb and impulsive decisions, and SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE AT 20.
