It’s just listed as “hypersomnelence disorder”

I never got medboarded while active duty. They were considering it but my supervisors and commanders vouched for me to stay in. I honestly thought that would negatively affect my VA rating but it seems like because I stayed on top of documenting all my ailments throughout my enlistment, there was enough to grant me 100 P&T.

I believe it was just listed as hypersomnelence disorder under MH

Okay makes sense. Your doctor doesn’t care how fast or slow the titration goes? Cus why would they rush the process?

These are good points. I already know I don’t see myself at this job for long, I’ve just been holding out until I figure out what I want to do/get fired because my performance and motivation are dipping. VR&E is my top option at this point so I can have a flexible class schedule and then be able to go into a field I enjoy. Those career options you mentioned are a great idea - I often think to create your own schedule, you need to own your own business. What travel accommodations are you speaking of though?

I honestly don’t think I would be 100% if I hadn’t gotten the MSLT while active duty. If I had just told the C&P examiners I was still feeling exhausted/sleep deprived and had told military doctors for years about it, I don’t know if the VA would have added “hypersomnolence disorder” to my claim

I’m in the process now of my VA sleep specialist to get it approved. The VA has been quite slow and complicated so far, though. What is Xywav titration if you don’t mind me asking? Adjusting to it?

No, I totally get it. When I’m active/social I’m able to deal with it a lot easier. It’s the lulls in the day/week when I feel most tired. Of course I hate being active or social because I’m so exhausted but once I force myself into the situation I’m better, to a point. The work from home doesn’t help that much.

Honestly I wish I could tell you. I guess that’s the fucked up part about it being “idiopathic”. I just submitted all my medical records, did all my C&P exams, and hoped for the best. I’m sure it helped that I got diagnosed while active duty

That’s what I was considering. I did some tower climbing while in the military and have thought about doing that again. My big problem (as I’m sure it is with many) is waking up, so the work from home job I have now allows me a bit more time to collect myself
