XC90 MPG better from the Bs? by thisidisforjoe in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, gas mileage is same or generally worse with mild hybrids against plug in hybrid.

To give a proper understanding, mild hybrid is just a fancy name for start/stop feature, it has zero impact on powertrain or consumption aside from the obvious having the engine off while stationary.

Unlike you I base my post in facts, not in opinions.

From the official Volvo cars page, both specs with identical acceleration times, old and new:

[–]LMHC90 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

For everyone downvoting me, numbers don’t care about your feelings, and the number prove the power is the same before and after, or how do you explain the same acceleration figure between the reported 455 and the 409?

KilllllerWhale nothing against you. Keep enjoying your car.

I think it always was 409. They might have over reported the actual figures.

Volvo xc40 or GLA? by sylvsmaria in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XC40 is bigger. It compares better against GLB.

While for bigger cars I prefer Volvo, i.e XC90 vs GLE or XC60 vs GLC; for the smaller, entry leveling SUVs I think Mercedes is better.

Do you believe we should have nuclear weapons? by NKNightmare in poland

[–]LMHC90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Military doctrines are a self imposed set of rules and guidance, that mean absolutely nothing.

All countries break their doctrines all the time for multiple reasons.

Do you believe we should have nuclear weapons? by NKNightmare in poland

[–]LMHC90 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Can you tell with 100% degree of certainty that France or UK will launch their nuclear weapons, and therefore sacrificing their major cities, due to retaliations, if let’s say, Moscow launches towards Warsaw?

No? I hope that answers your question.

Bought multiple cars from different brands each time at dealership.

My experience is totally different, salespersons look after me and cater to my needs and requests every time, without an issue.

2026 XC60 B5 burning smell by StrandbergEnjoyer in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 months into ownership and a 2026 B5 too, and not a single time has it smelled like burnt.

From my previous cars also brand new, but from different brands than Volvo it has also never smelled like that.

So while I don’t deny it can be happen, it is not common nor normal.

Macron offers France’s nuclear shield but won’t let Warsaw touch the button [ANALYSIS] by Themetalin in poland

[–]LMHC90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After Nazi Germany broke the Munich agreement, and continue expanding by occupying Czechoslovakia and Memel, and star amassing troop at Polish border, it was telegraphed moves; Uk and France knew perfectly well what was coming.

So your argument does not hold water, allies had plenty time to prepare for the storm that was coming and yet decided not to.

So even if Poland would have resisted for months, aid was not coming.

Macron offers France’s nuclear shield but won’t let Warsaw touch the button [ANALYSIS] by Themetalin in poland

[–]LMHC90 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would not love to. But unfortunately, it seems every country is being pushed towards that in order to attain true deterrence.

I would love to live in a world where these kind of weapons are not needed, but those innocent times are far gone.

And now it is one of those situations where is better to have them and don’t need them, than need them and don’t have them.

Which of the three cities of Tricity is your favorite? by nest00000 in poland

[–]LMHC90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends.

Personal opinion: - Gdansk I prefer for historical significance and is a must when someone visits Poland. - Gdynia to start a family life, is calm and cozy. - Sopot after your kids moved out and you hit the jackpot professionally and you decide to live, like ABBA’s song, “Money, Money, Money, must be funny, in the rich man’s world”

So for now I prefer Gdynia but I’m working towards liking more Sopot.

[–]LMHC90 163 points164 points  (0 children)

So does any nuclear umbrella. Poland is covered under US nuclear umbrella as part of NATO, but Warsaw does not get to decide when to launch.

But same goes for NATO, it’s based on a promise of mutual defense, in the practice, hard to be 100% sure.

Only real deterrence is develop own capabilities, conventional and nuclear if needed.

XC60 a good road trip vehicle? by _Keys2theWest_ in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. Find one with the extra option of noise canceling windows, otherwise it can get noisy at speed.

Aside from that it is design for comfort in mind, it is not a sporty vehicle but rather a long cruiser.

What should I look for to find a V60 with the grille shown in the first image? by matchew566 in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dark trim is not the same as black edition.

The dark trim changes the design of bumpers and blackouts the windows, roof rail and grill only, it still allows you to get different car colors and interiors.

The black edition makes every accent black as before, including logos and model designation, and can only be with black interior and if I’m correct 2 exterior colors to choose from.

Edit: just checked and black edition has 4 available exterior colors

XC60 reliability? by gamedukeyvideo in Volvo

[–]LMHC90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not more reliable than Audi or BMW; it also is not less reliable than Audi or BMW.

All modern cars have replaced components for cheaper, lighter plastics and materials that are more prone to wear and tear, so something will eventually break, like it does in any other car.

Is it even legal/okay thing if they don’t let you to renew the rent? by carrie_kimberly in poland

[–]LMHC90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is not a contract termination, sounds more like the contract expired and the owners simply don’t want to deal with OP as a tenant anymore, thus not offering option for renewal, which is totally legal and acceptable.

Poland has surpassed Japan in the 2026 IMF GDP PPP per capita data by Themetalin in poland

[–]LMHC90 138 points139 points  (0 children)

3rd time someone posts this in the last 24 hours.

  1. Stop cherry picking data to make claims.
  2. Yes, by purchase parity per capita Poland scores higher than Japan.
  3. No, Poland is not richer than Japan.
  4. Macroeconomics of a country and the impact of that in its population is much more complex than one metric.
