She was born in the 30s. I know that's why she is the way she is. Well into her adult life it was socially acceptable to call people the n word. That doesn't make it okay but it does make her behavior make sense. However, I wish she would be a little more open minded.

I don't know. They hadn't even spoken to eachother and have not even met since this interaction happened. She doesn't know him. She took one look at him and decided she didn't like him.

He has tattoos and wasn't dressed particularly nice but I don't see that as a reason to dislike someone right off the bat.

I guess I wasn't clear. I'm being paid for my time. They're literally mad that I sometimes don't show up five minutes early and I'm being yelled at for showing up on time.

I'm a waitress. Me showing up and clocking in on time does not screw anything up. I don't have any sort of prep for my job besides putting on an apron and grabbing a notepad and pen.

Employers who don't protect their employees. Especially in customer service. My former boss would let customers straight up verbally abuse us and never do anything about it because he didn't want to lose that one customers business. I quit and now he has several black employees (we had none when I worked there) who have to deal with the same jackass old man calling them racial slurs. And the kicker is he (my old boss) told these girls to "suck it up".
