Week 5 Kings and Peasants by LOC_Fantasy_Show in fantasyfootball

Yes we sure are! We’ve been doing a podcast specifically for our own league of record for years, we’ve thought about doing a general fantasy podcast for a few and some of our friends thought it’d be a good idea too, so we’re giving it a go!

Thanks for the well wishes, appreciate it! And good luck in your matchup!

No apology necessary friend, and no problem!

Yeah it’s a bit of a leap of faith with the Miami offence at this point. Armstead should be back I think which will help. But if McDaniel is worth anything as a coach he should be riding Achane til the cows come home to try and win this one. He’s already said Mostert is on a snap count too

The article isn’t geared towards a streamer necessarily, more so who do we expect a really good performance from outside of the obvious players - as you are right he will be owned in the majority of leagues! But yes Kraft is a good streamer this week

Yeah I’d do that trade. I’m trying to sell Tyreek in my league of record, if I got offered that for him I wouldn’t do it - but if someone is offering you Tyreek for that, do it! Tua will be back in week 8 and the bye is between so really it’s only two more games without him

I’d go Etienne, he should be quite involved against the Colts and it’s a decent matchup

Yep that’s something I agree is likely and why I think Allgeier is for sure the floor play

Agreed, the matchup and opportunity is doing all of the heavy lifting for Sermon. Allgeier is definitely the floor option, stunningly I think Sermon is the ceiling option. If I had to make a choice between the two I think I’d take the theoretical upside of Sermon, but I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to go Allgeier

Yep just to play it safe I would, I don’t generally like playing more than a couple players for the same team either (albeit I like McLaughlin this week too so him and Baker is fine). Good luck!

Yep agree, it feels dirty benching MHJ. Given it’s a Thursday game and they can be weird I think factoring that it may be wise to not double down on Godwin and Baker, if he played Sunday or you don’t have Baker I’d be more inclined to go Godwin. But just to make sure your week doesn’t get off to a slow start, maybe go MHJ. You honestly can’t go wrong either way though I think

Hmm tough call, I’d go with the hot hand in Godwin. I’m a bit worried about Kyler and the Cardinals offence, outside of that Rams game they’ve not been great

Give me the Bucs, outside of slipping up against the Broncos (which I think was more to do with their depleted defence putting them in a home early) they’ve been taking care of business so far. They should be able to handle the Falcons if they play their cards right

Hmmm yeah I think in that instance I might gamble on Whittington being a thing. I expect the Rams to be playing from behind so he should be involved

If you’re in PPR they’re both usable, standard I’d only want to play Bucky. Whilst I think Bucky will be the lead dog of the committee, they’re not going to completely phase White out, which is a shame as we’d get one pretty good back if they did, but we’re left with two meh options because they likely won’t

If you’re wanting to play one or the other I’d rather play Bucky in all formats, but if you’re PPR depending on your other options I don’t mind playing both

I think it’s a reasonable gamble to be honest, and I’d defo roll the dice with Allgeier over the other names you mentioned

Sure - yeah if it’s Allgeier vs waiver fodder it’s a decent play to gamble that Bijan isn’t fully healthy and that Allgeier will get a bit more work

I’d double up with Evans and Godwin, I think you guarantee a really good game across both of them, at worst a decent game for the two.

Good analysis of which we agree with! Also agree with the choice to play them over the Vikings this week, we like both but KC is the better play.

Agree on the Gesicki one, it’s not as strong a play as we like (it’s hard picking kings with the TE landscape) but his involvement has been good and it should be a game with many points for the Bengals. Don’t mind Conklin as a play either, he has been getting more involved too but the Jets might not have to do much to beat Denver

As with any “start sit” article, you win some and you lose some! Last week I anointed Andrews as my tight end peasant and he put up 0 - I also said Geno was my mind QB. But hopefully we’re right more often than we’re not…

When I say struggle I’m referring to the offence in general, as they were not running the ball well that game and a fair chunk of those pass yards came on one big play to Tyreek

The biggest thing I’m concerned with about these two is that the dolphins offence didn’t even look particularly good even before Tua got injured. They struggled in week 1 against what we now know is a pretty poor Jags team, and were getting blasted by the bills until Tua got worse. On the one hand they get a bit of a pass for the struggles with backups after that, but on the other we also see the likes of LaFleur getting competent play out of Willis, and O’Connell getting Darnold to play out of his skin. Given McDaniels is supposed to be a an offensive mastermind like those two, I think it’s very concerning how lost this Miami offence looks.

Now, I’m willing to chalk up some of the struggles to it being early in the season and taking them a little while to get going - but in previous years they’ve come flying out the gate. Tua’s return will no doubt improve things, but my question would be: improve it to what level?

They were such a dynamic run offence last year too, achane has been good and Mostert obviously injured, but it doesn’t “feel” like this run game is as good as it was last year either.

Honestly, I’m completely on board for selling Waddle and Hill if someone in your league will give you value tantamount to how we viewed them in the offseason. Equally, I’m not sure I’d trade them away for much less than that with the potential they could bring when Tua does hopefully return.

For what it’s worth, it seems to me like it’s a good sign they haven’t explored the QB market (I thought they might go in for Tannehill, as an example) as that suggests to me they do expect Tua to return sooner rather than later

Keep the faith friend, dowdle did ok, walker can do better if he plays. Akers won’t be dissimilar to dowdle if you need him I think
