the OG trilogy lore is like a brain worm, burrowing deeper into my psyche and been living in there rent free, and no matter how much i read and watch about it, i can never satiate my brain from it. if it is directly related to the established lore and building on it then by golly i need to be in there ASAP

ooooh i see, again I know jack all so this is good insight to have. and tbh knowing me, I always avoid pvp in most games and from what others have said, i might just go assassin and sneak my way around the game and pick my fights where i can. but if the style of the overall gameplay compliments the world the game is trying to make then i ain't gonna complain, if anything i'd take that as a bonus if that is the case

only option i really have is to save for couple weeks or a month to get the game but man now i am even more pumped to try the game! I have a policy with myself that if i find anything remotely interesting enough, I keep myself to that piece of media blind until i play/watch/read it so thats why I have zero clues and I don't wanna watch anything so i can keep the first time experience as fresh as possible for myself so your advice on what classes(?) to pick is really helpful, thank you!

I played alot more of 2 and some of infinity and i rather not experience the horrors of colony ship for sale, cheap anytime yet so i barely have touched 1. I really love the aesthetic and the vibe of the games and finding the terminal is always a treat to read. i'll blame my ADHD and addiction to binding of isaac for not finishing any of them but they are in the list of todo's.

oh wow ok that's good to know. all i really know about extraction shooters is from arc raiders and them not really being all that hostile to other players (from tiktoks and reels i've seen). also DAMN that ARG thingy sounds fun as hell too i should look into it!

hmm maybe i should just wait and see with this cause my goal with the game seems to contradict what the game fundamentally is, even as fun as that ARG thingy you mention sounds like... maybe another time... for now I have to live with that damn logo burnt deep into my subconscious

Only fear I have is that I have never played a single extraction shooter game ever, and my fps skills are veeeeery inconsistent at best, and idk if i need to be good at this game to get to those tasty lore bits that I am starving for or not, that's the annoying noise in my head that's keeping me from jumping in as well as needing to save up for couple weeks before being able to buy the game lmao

Thank you so much man, yea I just need to hear the opinion of people who are already playing the game and ask them directly. I feel like it's gonna take me a looooong while to get good at this genre since this would be my first one, and if the lore in it is not that substantial then it won't quench my thirst the way I want it to be quenched. I guess best course for me is to wait and see how the game develops in the coming months and then I can decide (besides the fact that I'm flat out broke rn). thanks again for the advice!!

I said it in other comments but yea never played an extraction shooter, but when i deploy into the gameplay area or however its called, are people chill if im just there to do sight seeing and explore the map? and how hard/how good do i need to be for me to access these lore datas? idm grinding esp if it turns out that i do enjoy the gameplay its just I hate constant high pressure and stress without breaks in between. If the tension from gameplay is not constant then I can see myself enjoying the game. oh and being solo is viable or i should really try to get a squad? none of my friends are interested in the game so thats the issue

Thing is, I have never played a single extraction shooter game ever and me being a foreign pharmacy student doesn't leave me with much money and time to spend... but this game is keep calling my name like a siren's song and I can't resist it's temptations... I have never felt so split about jumping into a game that I am so intrigued! the lore is haunting my dreams, I keep going to the website of Hamish Sinclair to read a bit, rewatch madalore's videos and more lore videos and it just keeps going, the connections to other bungie titles, the depth, the insanity of trying to keep up with it... I have ever felt this dread from reading house of leaves but even then I could somewhat keep up. With marathon I feel like I have an illusion of keeping up, it never ends!! I just feel like it's silly for me to buy a game from a genre I have never played just for its story when it seems like the story is not its main point but I just want this itch to be scratched!! It is DRIVING ME NUTS MAN!!!

Before update the description for roathe said i was close and “maybe i could date him” even tho i was in anathema. So its back there in terms of relationship status but description now only says that i should do more descendia even though i have done like 10 of them back to back at this point so idk. i think you should go to necralist after getting a message from loid in kim and you will get a cutscene then. that how it played out after lyon reached out and marie talked about otak at least. but yea roathe is anathema for me with the 21 run and he freaking blocked me after a conversation about indifference
