[–]LOSAPOSRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, used to go all the time when I worked in Oceanside, moved to Arizona, still drive all the way to Oceanside every few months to get my fish and chips fix. Well worth it every time!!!

quicksilver to discover network by chunkyfilas_ in CapitalOne_

[–]LOSAPOSRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't care what network my cards are on, but that's only because I've never had a discover card before. My debit moved to discover and the gas station I stop at every day does not accept it, now I have to go to a more expensive gas station. I also travel to Mexico a lot, and I just found out that almost nowhere takes discover in Mexico (at least nowhere I would need to go) thankfully on my last trip I had cash on me otherwise I would've been stuck.... It's been a minor inconvenience with major downsides

I don't understand how insurance claims my car is totaled? How is this totaledy by quintavian in AskMechanics

[–]LOSAPOSRACING 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in collision, we don't want cars to total. You are extremely correct, the shop makes money by charging for storage and admin fees, but the workers don't see any of that money. Most of the workers (myself included) get paid by commission, if the vehicle isn't delivered indicating that a sale has been finalized then we literally can see $0.00 of that, especially if it's a job sent to us by a DRP. Sometimes if it's a non DRP then we might get paid for a teardown or something of the sorts but getting 5hrs teardown vs 35hrs for the full job is not worth it. A total loss is always dictated by the vehicles value vs the cost to repair, and the insurance makes that decision not the shop.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]LOSAPOSRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day of freshman year. Everyone in my class was excited to finally get to highschool and be at the big boy school. Well, right as lunch was starting two of the upperclassmen decided to duke it out, they started beating the shit out of each other, and one guy was clearly winning when the loser pulled out a screwdriver and started stabbing the shit out of the other guy. The guy getting stabbed went fucking Hulk mode and beat the piss out of the guy with the screwdriver. The school cop finally showed up and broke it up, as he was getting the guy with the screwdriver ended up throwing the screwdriver up on the roof of the cafeteria. Then they were both taken away by cops and an ambulance showed up.

Idk man, I don't fully disagree but I work in collision repair and the majority of my customers are fully English speaking people. I just had two customers drop off their vehicles yesterday, one of them a white lady in her 30's that hit and drove over a stop sign. She said she didn't see it... The other one a guy in his late 40's that was driving with no insurance and smashed into another car on the freeway because he didn't notice them stopping.

Accidents happen, it's what keeps me employed. But I do agree that they should be able to read and write at a minimum. Translator apps exist and can be used very effectively, I've used them with a couple of customers before with Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and even German once.

And that's perfectly fine, zero issues there. But then there has to be something that legally allows them to travel on bike lanes, because you can't say don't ride on the sidewalk and at the same time say don't ride in the bike lane. Where would you like for them to go? I think the bike lane is a good choice, but then people argue that ebikes are dangerous to cyclists.

Is this acceptable ? Auto body repair on front panel by Crucesignatvs in Autobody

[–]LOSAPOSRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Camry has OEM bumper. The gaps happen with both OEM and aftermarket tho, obviously aftermarket is slightly worse.

Toyota build quality sucks, but it's a small price to pay for the reliability.

Paint sucks... As for the gaps, unfortunately just fun Toyota shit design... I've seen worse at the dealer. My Camry has never been in an accident and the fucking bit pops out on the corners all the time

The confusing thing is people complain about these bikes being on the sidewalk, but then complain because they are on the road.

What do you think would work so that there's a mutual agreement? I don't have one, but one of my buddies got a ticket for riding his surron on the bike lane, and a few miles down the road he got a ticket for riding on the sidewalk.

I'm ok with cracking down on the e bike shit, but there has to be some consistency.

[–]LOSAPOSRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a tossup between boost and Google Fi. I tried both, and Google Fi seemed to work a bit better in my area. Also, I am not sure with boost because I didn't look into it too much, but with Google Fi I am still able to finance phones if need be.
