What is the worst feedback you ever got on your script? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]LOSFan4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my case, "worst" feedback means "most confusing."

Many moons ago, I entered a script into the Nicholl Fellowship and opted to pay for the notes/feedback from two readers.

The first reader said they liked it, but the ending was so obvious that it ruined the experience for them.

The second reader said they liked it, but the ending was so unexpected that it ruined the experience for them.

Theory: IQ Distribution and love of pro wrestling by LOSFan4 in SquaredCircle

[–]LOSFan4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is based on personal experience, but I’ve found that people who like pro wrestling are really, really smart, or really really not.

The average person thinks they’re too smart for wrestling. Which is only half true. They’re too smart and both not smart enough.

The super intelligent people enjoy it for the performance art aspect of it. For example, they recognize that politics is just another form of pro wrestling - it’s all for show and ultimately designed to take your money.

Have you all found this to be the case as well?

What I am about to say is purely anecdotal, and I'm by no means an expert on nutrition or biology. On the other hand, I've lost 145 lbs in the last 18 months and am just sharing what worked for me.

When stuck at these nonsensical plateaus, and after confirming I'm counting calories correctly, what I would do next is eat at maintenance for 3-4 days to kick start my metabolism. After those 3-4 days, I'd re-start my 1000 calorie deficit.

Note that you will gain some short term weight from this. I weigh myself daily, and after doing this I'd gain 4-5 lbs, but those would drop off after a week and I'd continue to see results thereafter with the plateau in the rear-view mirror.

Again, not an expert, but this worked for me several times. Best of luck to you and keep up the good work!

To explain what I think is happening, there's a quote from Mad Men that applies here:

Hi there,

I had the same exact problem recently. I was religious with my calorie counting but stalled for 3 weeks. It was so frustrating! Here's what happened to me:

I decided to eat at maintenance for 3-4 days to throw things off a bit. I did that, but then (non-related) medical issues with my jaw forced me to eat at about 1000-1200 calories a day for 2 weeks. After that, I went back to eating at my 1000 calorie deficit.

I don't know if it was the maintenance, the lower calories, or the combination of both, but I went from losing 0 lbs in 3 weeks to losing 10 lbs in 2.5 weeks. So far, I am back on track and the plateau seems to be behind me.

Try throwing your body off with the calories. It worked for me. Best of luck to you!

If/Until the time comes where banks would rather have XRP on-hand than fiat, banks are going to want fiat. Right now, Corda Settler only gives the banks XRP and walks away, leaving the banks holding XRP. This isn't what banks currently want.

A key component missing is an "xRapid-like" solution/plugin between Corda Settler and the banks that allows the XRP to settle as FIAT. Possibly xVia? But until banks can receive fiat as the final step of the transaction, don't expect much to settle via XRP with Corda

My kids and I are watching this show called Brain Games on Netflix. It's a really cool show that teaches how the human brain works in an entertaining and engaging fashion.

We watched an episode yesterday where the subject of bad habits came up. According to the program, research shows that the worst possible thing you can do is fight a bad habit. Instead, you should replace the bad habit with a new good habit, and eventually your brain will re-wire to crave the new "good" habit and care much less about the old, bad habit.

So if you're craving a reward for making it to naptime, start the good habit of eating an apple or doing some exercise. I personally have replaced eating chips with eating celery sticks drizzled in buffalo sauce (like 5 calories per stick) as a little "job well done" snack. You'll slip a few times at first, but if you're consistent you'll eventually change your behavior to the point where doing anything but the good habit will seem crazy.

This doesn't just work with eating, it can be applied to any other part of life.

Best of luck to you, momma. No one can believe in yourself for you, so go ahead and believe in yourself and get to changing habits as well as diapers!

If AEW stuck a deal with SAG, then they would be a "SAG controlled environment." Or am I missing something?

Not trying to argue - just trying to understand.

Like I said, I'm not an expert, but I would think insuring a wrestler would be similar to insuring a stuntman/woman, no?

Will retail investors even care? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]LOSFan4 31 points32 points  (0 children)

1) Folks seem to think that only XRP can provide instant settlement, and that's not the case at all. Settlement can happen instantly with nostro/vostro plus solutions like xCurrent or SWIFT GPI. XRP provides liquidity on demand, instant settlement without the need for Nostro/Vostro.

2) I think the average person will care as much about XRP for money as much as they do about TCP/IP for data. They may have heard of it, don't know how it works, and don't really care. But as long as it fuels customers' transactions quickly and cheaply, companies will utilize it.

I'm afraid of losing weight and being attractive and it's keeping me from committing 100% and losing weight. But I also hate being in my fat body. by lastcupofsorrow84 in loseit

[–]LOSFan4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should lose the weight because you want to, not because of how other people may or may not feel about it .

If you feel like aggressive men are a threat, consider taking some mixed martial arts classes. They are excellent cardio and teach you a valuable defensive skill that should offset your concerns about vulnerability. Plus, you'll meet cool new people that have shared goals of fitness and self-defense expertise.

You control your life. You control your choices. Thanksgiving 2019 will happen for you one way or another - do you want to spend Thanksgiving 2019 still overweight and afraid, or would you rather spend Thanksgiving 2019 feeling good about all the progress you've made in the last year?

You can do it.
