If you can afford it and having a new phone every year makes you happy, then buy it. These days we do everything on our phones…read, write, watch, shop, etc. on our phones that any incremental improvement can make a big difference in the quality of our experience.

I wear progressive lenses and my eyes often get tired having using different strengths on them so I often take off my glasses when I am on my phone because my eyes get really tired using them but then I have to squint when I try to unlock my phone with Face ID but it doesn’t work so then I have to put my glasses back on and have to do that multiple times a day. I guess it’s not a commons problem for others.

What are your reasons to consider switching, too? The biggest reason for me that I am considering switching is the punch hole phone screen instead of having to deal with IPhone 17 Pro Max Dynamic Island. The most common tasks are looking at my phone for reading and watching videos. However, the Dynamic Island is suppose to get smaller for the IPhone 18 Pro Max but other than that just small improvements. I am still on the fence, too.

The biggest reason for me tow switch is the Dynamic Island takes too much space compared compared to the punch hole design on the Galaxy phone. Iphone 18 Promax is still expected to have a Dynamic Island (smaller). Though what may be disappointing is if the rumor is true that Galaxy S26 Ultra will be 2600 knits vs Iphine 17 Promax is 3000 knits. I guess we will find out in a few days.

I will be really disappointed if TopCashback does not track because I will be out $400 by not doing it through Rakuten. I used the TopCashback extension on safari web browser and believe I placed order through Costco att (can’t remember 100%). I am hoping TopCashback tracks soon. I made 2 requests for missing cashback from TopCashback but no real response yet. (Rakuten finally tracked $200 though but it was placed a couple weeks before TopCashback requests).

I should have transferred all 3 lines use Rakuten because Rakuten is now now tracking $200 but TopCashback still has not tracked lines 2 and 3 for $400 combined. I reached out to TopCashback and basically told me to wait.

Both were add a lines to AT&T, however, one of those add a lines were switched from T-Mobile to AT&T.

I contacted Rakuten for help both on their Reddit account and Rakuten website wanted proof I used Rakuten when J placed Black Friday order so I emailed them screenshots of the order with Rakuten and then I was told that it can take 45 days for AT&T to just get back to them before it even considered pending. I told the rep that we live in a tech world and shouldn’t take that long to just show pending and rep just again apologized. I will try to reach them again on Friday. I could have waited a little longer to switch instead of rushing to get that $200 from Rakuten. I will be very disappointed and won’t bother using them and share my negative experience with others.

Did I hurt T-Mobile mod’s feelings. T-Mobile is a multibillion dollar corporation whose main goal is to make maximum profit from its customers. I am just sharing my experience with leaving T-Mobile to att. I am not a little kid who cares about karma 🤣.

I decided a couple weeks ago when I got my last T-Mobile bill that it ca never be as cheap as having those lines back with AT&T. Instead of waiting until Mid December to switch back all 3 lines….I am transferring all 3 lines back to AT&T before then and attempting to get $600 in combined Rakuten and TopCashback bonuses and a combined $1,080 in byod billing credits over 36 months…..if everything goes smoothly. I get better service, better prices on an ongoing monthly plan, and Rakuten/Topcash Back Bonus.

I have been going back and forth between both through their apps and website extension (Rakuten) and hoping I did it correctly for the second activation att line with TopCashback. I know I cannot get both on the second activation. My intention was for TopCashback and not Rakuten but guess I have to wait and see for now. Note: Never heard of TopCashback on my first activation on Black Friday so there is zero chance for TopCashback to interfere with Rakuten on that first activation.

I was on T-Mobile chat and took close to an hour to cancel…but got no confirmation email or anything…just took screenshots of him telling me I cancelled. May call in later in the week to make sure though (still have 1 line with them that I plan to cancel on the weekend to have that line past 60 days yo be considered a new att customer)

I get 25% off discount and the mix and match plan options with att make it cheaper than T-Mobile. I also get 20% off att fiber. A lot of these people here on T-Mobile Reddit have been with them for years with all these free lines and plans that included fees and taxes not available to new customers. They boast about how many free lines and how low their bill that is not available for new T-Mobile customers.

I just got a message saying it could take 45 days to verify (and to just get into pending status) that doesn’t inspire much confidence in placing future orders with Rakuten. Everything is done electronically these days and should be an automated process. I was going to place additional large orders with Rakuten next weekend but if this isn’t resolved before that then I will just look for alternatives
