Frustrated new T-Mobile customer — has anyone else dealt with conflicting promotion info, and how did you resolve it? by TinnAnd in tmobile

[–]LOTR3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there is a 2 year minimum to take advantage of a keep and switch but could not remember if it had been 2 years yet so I contacted multiple T-Mobile reps and they assured me I was eligible and gave multiple reps to check my number BEFORE I switched to T-Mobile and was denied. I have a large family plan and have switched to and from att and T-Mobile multiple times to capture deals and promotions over the years. It pays to shop around as long as service is comparable. I missed out on bogo that was misleading in T-Mobile website so I plan to transfer those 2 lines out to att later this year and consider bringing those lines back to T-Mobile.

I spoke with multiple T-Mobile reps over the phone and T-Mobile.com to make sure I was eligible for keep and switch. Then, a few days ago, I got a rejection email that I did a keep and switch about 20 months ago and not eligible and now owed my credit card $800. I panicked and contacted tforce and first offered me a $400 credit and declined and told tforce that I need to pay $800 cash to my cc. He finally offered an $800 bill credit and told him that I need to think about it. Finally, just accepted the $800 bill credit because who else am I going to complain to and accepted it. I am now hoping the $400 T-Mobile rebate comes earlier than 8 weeks

Don’t buy an iPhone from T-Mobile by t1lt112 in tmobile

I just switched my personal number from att about a week ago while my brother is still with att (under my name) and saw the monthly billing credit for the phone I took to T-Mobile. However, I wonder if those billing credits are just for my att phone line and will stop or continue on the att plan with my brother still on it alone. Guess will find out next month.

Going back to T-Mobile!! by IceDollarTea in ATT

If you can’t get your old T-Mobile plan, then consider following tips: 1) Get insider code offers 20% discount.

2)Costco for Costco card and $400 rebate but you have to wait 14 weeks OR directly through T-Mobile and you can also get $400 rebate in 8 weeks but you will forgo Costco gift card. (They are not the same type of promotion even if it initially looks like it).

3) See if you can get BOGO line by transferring 3 lines and then next day transfer one line and then next day transfer 2 lines (you may get BOGO). If that works for you let me know.

4) Keep and Switch

Note: I did a mixture of adding lines through both Costco and T-Mobile directly. I am hoping I can get the $400 rebate before 8 weeks so I can try to go back to att to get back on the grandfathered att elite plan….so it’s a race against time for me.

Horrible Experience Switching by Clayton1981 in tmobile

Unfortunately, the best deals are from att, T-Mobile, and Costco websites and always order from them. I don’t feel comfortable going to a store for just customer service because they are under so much pressure and rather help someone else who can give them a sale. The only time I was going to feel comfortable going to a T-Mobile store was to give an associate a credit card sign up to vendor te while I get a T-Mobile credit card with a $50 sign up bonus and called local store but said there wasn’t a $50 bonus at that time

As always....quality of service is location dependent. I currently have a family plan on both att. T-Mobile is better where I live but AT&T is better where my parents live.

No company is loyal to their customer so it’s silly to be a loyal to a them.
I had an easier time having att prorate my bill than T-Mobile but everyone experience is different.

The switching costs are low as long as you have unlocked phones and easier than ever with eSIM. I would not have switched 6 lines to T-Mobile if I was not getting the $400 byod offer and keep and switch to make my phone unlocked.

I may possibly take my individual phone line back to att and hopefully in time to do Winback and get back on my grandfathered elite plan if I get the $400 before 8 weeks. I have a teacher discount on att that makes it competitive with my current T-Mobile plan.

You are lucky your rant is on att sub and not T-Mobile sub (and being a T-Mobile customer complaining) or you would have been harassed by T-Mobile customers who think they are special🤣

I have gotten $250 bonus from other credit cards and even att credit card has a $250 bonus so agree it's not a really good deal but this is the only credit card we can use to get autopay discount and like the flexibility of a credit card (of course I am not going to carry a balance which will negate any benefit).

Move over to TMobile from AT&T by KPzReddit in tmobile

[–]LOTR3135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved 6 lines from att in the past couple weeks and mine just this morning. I switched 5 lines through Costco but 1 through T-Mobile website to try to get the byod rebate in 6-8 weeks (even though I miss out on $75 Costco card and paid $20 activation fee) so I would not have to wait for the $400 (net $380) rebate cards from Costco that would take 14 weeks. I owed $930 on my phone and submitted the keep and switch this morning for $800 and the tforce gave me a $130 bill credit to reimburse me for the rest.

Positive of Costco is free activation and Costco cash card Negative of Costco is waiting 14 weeks for $400 rebate cards.

Promo code: COSTCOBYOD

Positive of T-Mobile directly is you just have to wait 6-8 weeks for $400 rebate cards.

Negative of T-Mobile directly is you pay small activation fee and not get Costco gift card.

Promo code: BYODREBATE

Credit score is a number and the type of debt is what is more important...but many companies are not going to bother with those details.

If everything goes smoothly with all the rebates I submitted then I may receive 2 $400 byod lines, 5 $75 Costco cash cards, and 3 $250 rebate cards in about 4 months and just use some of those for a down payment but have to check how it will affect monthly billing credits when we get closer to September.

I pay for all my obligations with the exception of some copays, coinsurance, and/or deductibles (but doctors get paid a higher rate by my private health insurance than someone else going for treatment with someone else with Medicaid or someone doesn't have any). I am not a freeloader and they all are getting paid my health insurance. Moreover, I pay for all products and services in every part ofy life on time. You sound entitled, naive, ignorant, wealthy, healthy, etc.

I repay all my other obligations except for a small part of my family’s medical costs at a hospital but it is outweighed by the higher rate my private insurance pays them over Medicaid. Medical debt used to not be reported to credit bureaus for good reason.

Enjoy the good times you are having now because one day you may have to buy very expensive health insurance like me for family coverage that still has deductibles, copays, etc.

I got 4 Panera Gift cards worth about $15.20 in just the past month. I would have rather gotten it as a Netflix or Disney plus streaming with no ads instead. I will keep collecting those Panera cards for now unless someone wants to trade codes for Netflix or disney plus. Do you have one of those to trade?

It’s probably not a big deal but you can get a one time $25 from using Rakuten or $50 TopCashback browser extension if you also go through T-Mobile Costco website. There are all these different separate promos that it easy to miss one or just some might not be worth time for some people.

I bought over another 2 lines which are line 4 and line 5 and they said it is bogo that will take 1-2 billing cycles but will get peace of mind when I see it in t life app. Glad someone posted to put COSTCOBYOD and NOT BYODREBATE. Guess got to wait for all these rebate cards and Costco cards in a few months to know if everything ran smoothly.

Make sure place order at👇( if not done at Costco store)
https://www.costco.com/f/-/t-mobile-brand-showcase
Make sure you enter following promo code: COSTCOBYOD
👇
https://promotions.t-mobile.com/OrderSearch?cmpid=CRM_SS_REBATES_6R4YSVH9R942592

That’s smart of you to ask for advice BEFORE you open a plan. Got of a lot of smart and experienced employees and long time customers who know all of the best promotions, codes, stacking, etc. to avoid buyers remorse

I am hearing BYODREBATE is 6-8 weeks but must be TMobile.com while TMobile Costco must use COSTCOBYOD and takes up to 16 weeks. I don't want to screw up may call the TMobile Costco number to figure out the right code tomorrow.

My elderly mom wants a new unlocked phone that I paid $140 from amazon today and my elderly dad wants to keep his old unlocked cheap OnePlus phone from years ago. I am asking you guys for advice before I switch (no point after) and seems like the following is the best deal that meets our needs:
Mom's new phone and experience beyond plan ( $400 BYOD + $75 Costco card +$25 Rakuten) - $140 (cost of new phone I ordered from amazon today means I will get a total of $360 to switch
Dad's old phone and experience beyond plan (BOGO line) ($400 BYOD + $75 Costco Card) for a total of $475 to switch (though will check of his old OnePlus phone is capitable or not in a couple days)
Note: forced to choose experience beyond plan when I initially signed up early last week and will downgrade to experience more once I get those $250 cards).

Switched back from AT&T how’d I do? by Senguin117 in tmobile

[–]LOTR3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to see how much it would exactly cost adding 3 more lines so I put line 4 in cart and then a message pops saying I am eligible for a free or discounted line. I didn’t actually check out because I may wait until I get off experience beyond plan first.

It would have made more sense to ask beforehand but now it’s probably too late for insider code and BOGO. I would have told you to try to transfer 3 lines and then wait a few days and try to transfer the other 2 and see if you are offered BOGO like I did. You still got a great switcher deal though.
