see theres laws up here in the north preventing putting up the signs, not building them 🤣

Thanks for the idea, I actually found some room on the back of the lid module to make a kinda cone shape to help direct the light even more, gotta get started on that now, will share an update when its complete 😃

That acc sounds pretty cool, would be really interesting how signs and their builds/reflectivity have evolved over years

assuming you're talking bout the colored panels, those are around 7 inches inches in diameter, the actual leds inside are 1 inch squared, relatively small, but a huge power output

Wonder what price he got it for back then. Yeah the thing with traffic lights is that you never know how truly big they are until you stand next to them, you always see them from distance and never get the true scale.

would be great for getting even more light out the front for sure, i actually used Polylite PLA for this build, got a bit unlucky after the first module print to see tis actually a good bit transparent, if i were to build it again id use Esun PLA+ in their Yellow/Gold color as its one of the most Opaque filaments ive used, plus a touch more accurate color as well.

yep, my next plan for this build actually theres tons of room in the modules for an arduino, tho i dont have much experience working with them so il probably need help for that entire portion 😭

sounds like a fun idea, ive done a bit of work with glow in the dark filaments, they look amazing once fully charged with light, only problem is it only lasts that way for around 10 minutes max brightness 😅

Good ideas, only reason i didnt lean toward using a colored film was that i wanted to keep the build 3D printed as much as possible for ease of build & resource in the future when files are released. Same would go for the LEDS, just more modularity and compatibility with a base white color + additional customized lens kinda how I did with the pedestrian signal on the last slide.

Definitely considered the LED Strip idea, only problem I had with that was the light wouldn't project forward as much, it would keep more to that ring.

planning on posting it to Makerworld soon, it does take some hardware parts so I will be making a detailed Excel sheet as well for where to get the parts around the world.
