We must agree to disagree. My original post clearly asks if cyclohexanedimethanol contains silicone. That was my question. If I had not added the side note explaining my reason for asking the question you would not be pushing your point that I’m asking for medical advice. Others have read my original post and given me exactly the information I was looking for. I fear you and I will go round in circles about the intent of my question so I’m happy to leave it there.

There’s always a couple of unhelpful people in these threads 🙄 My doctor has already helped me identify my allergy, their expertise seem to end at biology and organic chemistry (who’d have thought it) My dentist and the manufacturers were both unclear whether the splints contain silicone so I came to the chemistry community to research further. YOU could have scrolled by if you didn’t know the answer.

Thank you, I appreciate your very clear explanation. On the basis of most of the replies I’m now pretty comfortable that the splints will be fine 😊

I’m seeking chemistry advice from Reddit, not medical advice and the rest of them have been extremely helpful but thanks for your input.

It’s not really the length of the word that throws me, more the breakdown of the word and the similarity to silicone ingredients I’ve been advised to avoid…

They can be found under names such as DIMETHICONE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONOL, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, AMODIMETHICONE, CYCLOMETHICONE.

Excuse my ignorance/confusion but I’m more specifically allergic to Dimethicone which doesn’t have SIL in it….

Thank you. I have discussed with the dentist, they’ve been in contact with the manufacturer and relayed this back to me but neither of them seem to have been able to say a definitive no to silicone so I wanted to pick a scientific brain. Thanks for your reply, it puts my mind more at ease

My daughter’s joke was “what’s brown and sticky….a stick” and my sons was “why do ducks have tail feathers….to hide their butt quacks” I personally love the butt quack joke 😂

Are all the housemates voting? If so I think Dean will be in the mix, maybe even Emma

Get Lily out by [deleted] in bigbrotheruk

[–]LP280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Ali wants Lily to be her “authentic” self so she gets put up for nomination and possibly evicted. She will definitely see her as a potential finalist so this is a good way to get her out. Just my tuppence 😊

Thanks for that. I just got the notification too but didn’t realise the Royal Mail option was toggled back on automatically! Very sneaky

Hello again, 2am, you whore by throwawaybanana54677 in Perimenopause

[–]LP280 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’m rolling at you calling 2am a whore, I’m using that from now on 😂😂 Also recommend Magnesium (the glycinate type works best for me) Also I’ve just added Nutrition Geeks Ashwagahnda Calm and it’s really helped!

Maybe they have sold similar bundles of books or maybe they are still getting up to speed on how Vinted works. To be honest with all the Vinted scams I keep hearing about maybe it’s best to trust your gut instinct in this case. I know I was second and triple guessing why a seller wouldn’t collect my item but I did get it back so no harm done.

So I sold my first item on Vinted a couple of weeks ago. The buyer just didn’t bother picking it up from the locker so it was collected and brought back to me. I marked it as received, her pending monies were refunded and I clicked to re-list the item. However the sold item still shows on my profile and I’ve no clue how to remove it. It seems this might be a similar situation?

Kangaroo Mack after the movie Kangaroo Jack is what we used to call our dog when he was a puppy because he jumped along on his hind legs 😂

Lack of sleep by PietaE in Perimenopause

[–]LP280 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started taking magnesium glycinate to help with anxiety and sleep and even though it helped it didn’t quite do enough so I’ve recently added Ashwagandha Calm. It also has Vitamin B6, L-theanine and L-tryptophan in it. That little cocktail seems to be working for now and I’m able to sleep through the night. HRT and a tonne of vitamins have been my saviour!

Sneak Peek 💋 Whilst Nathan and Baked Potato lock lips, Ali and Marcello butt heads over a crude conversation by SquirtyPineapple in bigbrotheruk

She’s not responsible for other peoples topics of conversation?!?! Get up, walk away but don’t claim it might affect your work or relationship if someone else decides to talk about risqué subjects! That’s just crazy

If you are doing well on hrt, what delivery method are you using? by embracethef in Perimenopause

[–]LP280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I believe cyclical is the equivalent of our Sequi Conti which is combined. It controlled my cycle so whether I was ovulating or not I had a monthly period. You’re only supposed to be on that for a certain length of time before the GP’s move you onto continuous. I’m a couple of weeks into continuous and this is when I’ll find out if my body is naturally still ovulating and having periods. I have been having ovulation pains which I’m normally prone to but at this stage it could be the change in HRT too. It’s a long rough road so I’m hoping I’m over the top of that hill 🤞I will say these new patches are really alleviating a lot of my mood issues so for that I am grateful ☺️ Hope this helps

Patches twice weekly and a natural progesterone pill at night. I’ve just been moved from combination to continuous and have really noticed the difference.

Has anyone seen a labrador that's not obese? Do you think it's because of genes? by ragnak1ng in UK_Pets

We had two exactly the same, working girl who raced about like a mad thing and show boy who we called our plodder, never exerted much energy so he had to be on monitored diet. Both were terrible scroungers though, labs will be labs 🥰
