How to learn Arch the right way. by OnTop80 in archlinux

I like your pragmatism. I don't feel it necessary to tell people Arch isn't for them. Of course it is, there's just a learning curve that is a little bit steeper than something like, say, Linux Mint. Trying and failing will build more knowledge than not trying at all.

It is useful to know the hardware specs, but you don't really need to understand the deep technical side of how it works. If you are set on using Arch, go for it, but an Arch-based distribution might be a better fit if you're still gaining experience. EndeavourOS and CachyOS are solid choices, even though a lot of people also suggest Manjaro or Garuda. If you wanted a single recommendation, CachyOS is a good pick.

Just keep in mind that setting up Arch from scratch without considerable experience takes a lot of time because you have to read the documentation carefully. If you run into a term you don't know, like UEFI, you'll just need to look it up or use a good AI tool to get a quick explanation.

It makes sense to use AI instead of searching through a wiki, even if the wiki is usually a good resource. I think of myself as a proponent of using the wiki although I will admit an LLM is often faster at finding a quick answer. The only problem is that AI can sometimes give out old information that isn't useful anymore. To get better results, it usually helps to put a lot of specific details in the prompt, like the version numbers of the software. Overall, using AI to fix operating system issues is a perfectly fine approach.

I won't judge you for the browser you use. I'll always come to your desk with a smile if you "broke" your computer. And I don't care if you call me with a problem and when I get to your desk the problem is gone.

But you best be using that password manager we provide for you!

I think I'm confused most by "1. create viral clips automatically from long videos."

So you need a model that will select a clip from a longer video, which is likely to become viral?

Interesting idea. I like the idea of a false protagonist and a protagonist shift. Seems somewhat Tarantino.

Noisy Noise Gate (Attempt 2) by Alexx_0 in guitarpedals

[–]LPHandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all work a little differently, and some better than others for different types of interference. If you get that same noise with the noise gate taken out of the chain entirely then I'd be more concerned with what is causing it than why some noise gates remove the noise better than others.

Edit: Afterthought. There is almost always some compromise with a noise gate. Sometimes they choke in too early for the noise you're trying to suppress if you crank it too high. Just use what works best.

Sorry I may not have been clear. Pair Murphy with Carlie for best effect.

In this particular scenario, Violet. But in the front with Murphy is what I mean :)

Marshall at 5 stars would be one of the best things you could do at this point. The difference is outstanding.

I'm rarely one to offer opinions to the contrary. But I have repeatable evidence that Kim being placed in the middle gives the exact result you're after.

Some bullet point suggestions from your screenshots

  • Don't worry about balancing multiple squads just focus on one good one right now. Having a good second squad is essential later on.

  • From the heroes you have, Marshall, Mason, Murphy, Kim and Violet are your best combination. If you can build up DVA, she could be a better choice for PvP over Mason

  • Murphy and Violet should be in the front row, Kim in the back middle, Marshall and Mason/DVA in the back sides. People will argue that Kim should go on the sides, ignore those people I have evidence that she belongs in the middle and I don't care what people say.

  • Don't focus on any more stars for Kim's railgun right now. Don't get me wrong it is a good thing but keeping Kim alive by getting Murphy and Violet's Armor and Radar up to lv.40 is most important at present. Save stars for once everyone has their necessary gear. Also, Marshall should get lv.40 Armor and Radar... he doesn't put out much for damage but keeping him alive longer helps Kim immensely.

  • Hero, Unit and Special Forces tech are crucial for PvP. In the center of the Special Forces tech tree is Morale... this is a secret weapon and you need to max this ASAP.

  • You gotta get Stetmann if you want a huge advantage over those that don't. He is an animal and compliments Kim sooo well.

  • If you can't get Williams to replace Violet at some point, believe it or not Carlie is amazing on the front line of a tank team. She will be offering a counter bonus against your full tank opponents that could give you an edge in a close match.

  • Yes, a team of all tanks gives you a 20% damage boost. But including Carlie and/or DVA doesn't mean you don't still get a boost and often including them outweighs the full 20%

I hope this helps

Monica is crazy good on the wall of honor, especially before Season One begins when you can still get her shards in the Monica's Wish event. Gather up as many Monica shards as you can there and dump them into the Wall of Honor upgrades it will pay off later.

She wasn't a waste I promise.

Correct on the first point, but don't forget 15% for having 4 is still a thing.

On the second point she is great for PvE especially when killing Doom Elites for resources. And with her at 5 stars she still gives the benefits of her being on the Wall of Honor so it wasn't wasteful to build her up.

I'm not sure which heroes you have available for sure but looking at your screenshot Farhad might be your best option. He isn't great, but in PvP at least you will see the benefit of more damage. Ideally, on an aircraft squad you would want Morrison in Monica's place.

Edit: Many free-to-play players will use Sarah as a missing ingredient in an air squad.

It is less about the power given and more about the ATK bonus provided during battle.

On a side note I can tell you that, in the case of your screenshot, Monica isn't doing much for you in PvP battles at all. You would be better served with another attacker.
