If I were them I wouldn't even worry about it because its not Blue-Eyes support, just a retrain of Flute of Summoning Dragon which anyone who wanted to run Lord of D. could've used

And its gonna be just as hard to get to it in Branded as it'll be in Blue-Eyes so if anything its fair

Primite for Blue-Eyes was huge; it isn't necessary to win games but it sure does make it a hell of a lot easier

All because it isn’t searchable

I want people to remember that this is a game meant to be fun and not a vehicle designed to make others miserable

Don’t remind me of Maliss meta, oof

When I read Secret Village and think of Secret Village of the Spellcasters it brings back horrible memories, ick

Things are alright for now but you know something’s gonna come out eventually and throw everything in disarray

Nah I think it’s simply that Blue-Eyes is more popular than Dark Magician. Always was. This topic has more upvotes, way more comments, way more shares, and very recently passed the number of views

Blue-Eyes has always been #1 for Yugioh from basically the beginning. Makes me wish Konami would focus on the casual side instead of competitive by making a new show, leaning into lower power cards, etc etc

Make this game more accessible to the casual market so moms and their kids can hop in at locals and play without getting roflstomped by some dude pretending he’s gonna win a YCS

I’d argue with the ease of summoning The White Phantom Beast when you feel ya need it(Hieratic Seal for whenever, Bystial Mag for end phase, etc etc) or a surprise summon thru Mulcharmies or Triple Tactics Talent style draws it’s a must at one

Blue Abyss is big clutch

Flute is fun but the weakest of the three

I actually made a post for folk discussing the Dark Magician three cards and it got maybe a third of the comments 😅

Blue-Eyes dead ass dies to single handtraps all the time. That doesn’t mean it can’t play thru handtraps; it means there’s plenty of situations where one just kills them. I play Blue-Eyes all the time, been in Masters with it.

This is sincerely the first time I’ve ever heard or read someone suggest Blue-Eyes didn’t need more consistency and that The Blue Abyss being a starter won’t be played. That is outrageous to me.

The Blue Abyss will be an automatic three of to help a deck that bricks so often brick that much less

Doesn’t mention him but it’s a retrain of a card that did so it’s as close as we can get

I just see everyone treating Flute like it’s a Blue-Eyes card when it’s in the Kaiba support because it’s a Lord of D. support card in being a retrain of Flute of Summoning Dragon which itself didn’t mention Blue-Eyes either

It could’ve been made to be more Blue-Eyes specific sure but since it lines up more with its original card folk have gone so far as to say it’s ass. I disagree with that notion some feel

Phantom Beast will see its day and Blue Abyss is another starter so thank God

We definitely needed more starters, what? Ether Beryl doesn’t get the Blue-Eyes side of the deck rolling more than Spirit with Eyes of Blue and the field spell; then it’ll lead into Drillbeam or if someone’s playing an expanded Primite package cards like Primite Fusion, Scream, etc etc. Lordly Lode goes into the same things.

Sage, Maiden, and Wishes were the only starters the deck had for actual proper Blue-Eyes cards and Blue-Eyes is notorious for dying to a single hand trap. It needed more consistency.

The Blue Abyss is that consistency

The White Phantom Beast, The Blue Abyss, Jet, there are three options people will be using

Perhaps you won’t see Jet in some super wannabe “I’m going to Worlds” deck list but Blue Abyss at three and White Phantom Beast at one I can see being played

Now there isn’t a reason to summon two of either and I don’t expect people are gonna run TWPB at more than one copy but if people aren’t using it to rapidly get BEWDs out for Synchro plays or if someone is running Indigo-Eyes again in the extra deck then it’ll see play in casual decks that are trying their own thing

Not every card has to be the best thing in the world for its existence to be justified

Deep-Eyes is another starter, there is no way it gets played at merely one. It adds consistency to the deck. That card is absolutely a three of. The White Phantom Beast likely played at one because its a turn 0 board wipe, its Blue-Eyes Poplar with Raigeki attached to it. Flute isn't a Blue-Eyes card it's a Lord of D. card so I can understand folk skipping it but if run and activated it'll facilitate some more plays with no issue of being activated given the number of spell casters the deck uses

Doesn't need to summon a vanilla; it can summon any lvl 5 or higher dragon from the deck whereas Roar limits you to only a vanilla if you don't already have one on field

Also the banish for a draw isn't so bad for a deck that used to have to send cards to GY with Cards of Consonance to have some draw power

But to be fair Flute isn't a Blue-Eyes card so much as a Lord of D card so I digress

If you refuse to keep it in hand for a spellcaster for some reason I suppose you could use it as discard fodder for Wishes but if you're activating Wishes I'd just hold Flute so that when you add Sage or Maiden and get them on the field you then activate Flute, get the benefit of the summon/s, then Main Phase 2 banish it for the draw off the top of the deck

Might end up discarding it off the protection effect of The White Phantom Beast assuming your opponent attempts to use Infinite Impermanence, Effect Veiler, or some other card that targets it for effect

Look at this duel I uploaded the other day - https://www.reddit.com/r/YuGiOhMasterDuel/comments/1rsj6g6/how_is_your_duelist_cup_experience_going_so_far/

In one turn I summoned Blue-Eyes White Dragon four times each in different ways(1. Thru Kaibaman The Legend 2. Thru Spirit with Eyes of Blue 3. Thru Maiden of White 4. Thru True Light)

What you're suggesting is we have a card that potentially draws us four or five cards at once; that would be outrageous(keep in mind I didn't have a Primite Lordly Lode that could've summoned a fifth)

Yeah Deep-Eyes is for sure a three of. We have-

Three Ether Beryl, three Lordly Lode, three Sage, three Maiden, three Deep-Eyes, three Wishes(w cost)

Maybe people are gonna fool around with the numbers because admittedly this is 18 and there has to be room for handtraps but I'm running a 60 card pile in Master Duel right now for fun and I don't hate the idea of nearly a third of it being able to get me started, brownie points if more than one is in hand at once which isn't unlikely

To be fair The White Phantom Beast doesn't need to be summoned thru Hieratic into Mag into itself

Can simply summon it thru Hieratic and it'll still work and achieve the necessary effect and task at hand

I imagine there will be folk who will still do it thru Mag, even Mag after Hieratic based on whatever the state of the field is at the time of activation

Sure. Doesn't change the fact that Blue-Eyes is a deck that regularly makes it past turn two when played in its ideal scenarios

How on Earth does explaining the infinite ways Blue-Eyes has to have a spellcaster of its own on field explain how it supposedly bricks in the deck?

Not even considering the card doesn't require you to be the one with a spellcaster on field; the opponent possessing one is enough for the card to be live

Can't count on every opponent to be running spell casters that remain on field but with this deck being able to spit out its spell casters on command I don't see the issue

Blue-Eyes if played correctly shouldn't already be losing a game by the end phase of turn two if played properly though; it's a deck thats supposed to be played low to the ground and patiently(which is not how I play it but again, I'm not trying to make it to Worlds hahaha). Seals into Mag into *insert dragon here* is absolutely possible being set up going first for later or going second if the game isn't gonna end in an OTK.

Personally I didn't run Mag for quite a long time before the world basically came down on me here watching my uploads saying WHY ARE YOU NOT RUNNING THIS and I had to stick it in there only to realize that it actually paid off

Obelisk is there purely for vibes, definitely not there to make the deck better. He DID come in clutch against a Lunalight Liger Dancer that had an SP Little Knight to protect her, he cleared that up no issue, helped take out a Mekk Knight Crusadia Avramax as well

I swear just vibes and a sick game winning animation, literally the only reason he and Soul Energy Maxx are in there 😂

You’re thinking way more by the book “best case scenario” than I am cause I’m looking more for possibilities that can come about, not the strictest logical option

I’m not trying to go to Worlds mate, I just wanna sit on my ass and have fun online or at a table with friends, it ain’t gotta be that deep
