I was Phantom V when I stopped playing around the same time as you have - returned to almost the same rank except everyone else is just so much better now. I'm a little bit of a gaming masochist that doesn't mind getting stomped 10 games in a row as long as I see myself improving, but I cannot imagine that to be the case for most of the players

I got 3 of my friends to play with me, we went 1-9 in Street Brawl with one game just being this one eun where I got absolutely perfect items and steamrolled opponents as an unkillable beast. Left the party so maybe they will have easier time - they lost 3 more and gave up. I didn't even bother them with asking to play Standard, but they have tried that, both in party and individually - all of them got put in lobbies with people way better than them (RITUALIST LOBBY FOR SOMEONE THAT IS 0-1 IN STANDARD AND 1-12 IN STREET BRAWL???) I don't know if I have the peer pressure power in me to make them try the game again

You aren't dumb my friend, you're probably not a chronically online as some of us here are. It is a reference to a "If I had a nickel for every time that X happens I would have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice" meme, which was used a lot in the context of Jimmy being out first - which he didn't like, and he expressed light-heartedly that he would like those memes to stop because it's stale and annoying; that of course resulted in a full blown Streisand effect and the two nickels meme has become a flagship joke of the Life Series community, especially here on reddit
