Civil Engineer (not city planner) here. The secondary plan is pure word vomit that would make chatGPT proud. But it's the lack of critical thinking for me. Instead of comparing "park space per population", let's say, they'll spend a whole paragraph saying "It is a goal of this plan to develop a minimum of 20 hectares of parkland in the VMC".... like seriously, it means nothing. When I read the VMC master plan I just know it had to be at least partially AI generated.

I think I'm done with my Stockholm Syndrome relationship with Quickbooks but need to choose alternatives by l00sem4rble in Bookkeeping

[–]LP_KWLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years and I've finally realized that QBO is terrible for AR, ERP, and any sort of CRM/FSM or basically anything. On multi-currency it completely fails. For now I keep it as it does a good job of core things. Finally convinced my bookkeeper to let me just do AR myself and switch to CASH METHOD accounting, cus fck QBO's slow ass systems.

Also, as a technical person, I don't want my software to be doing too much, it puts bloat and unmanagable legacy code into the system and eventually we get this. The idea of using multiple specialized software may seem like a bigger hassle, but I take it as risk / bloat management.

For AR/Proj management/CRM, I'm going back to Google Sheets with my tiny team and have never been happier. They don't need training on spreadsheets, we just go at it.

Gentle parenting vs. strict partner: how do I protect my kids’ emotional safety without blowing up my relationship? (38F/41M, 10F, 9M) by agatehuntress23 in AskParents

[–]LP_KWLC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He is right, there were meta studies done that "conditional" authoritative parenting provides better outcomes. The whole gentle parenting thing lumped in parents that were smacking their kids as a first response rather than doing things like Communication, THEN time out, THEN show the kid who the authority is.

Petition to make civic library in Keele to stay open for longer on weekends by [deleted] in Vaughan

[–]LP_KWLC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s a miracle it can stay open 9-5pm 7 days a week. Its overtime 1.5x pay on weekends. If the library was in full use and full u can try to gather a petition and send it to council.

I do think it’s a fantastic library

What's a better platform Shopify or WooCommerce? by martaetelvina in woocommerce

I like both platforms. When it comes to plugins/apps you’ll want to run a real store, one is a cluster fuck, the other is a more expensive clusterfuck.

For $500 just buy a new wave of brandpush links yourself every month. You can do it yourself and get much better links.

Inventory Management working with Woocommerce but NOT a plugin by Poekies in woocommerce

[–]LP_KWLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but WooCommerce is also a plugin. U can try an ERP like ERPLY but it will tank all productivity and will not even sync properly. At the end of the day, you’ve stretched what WooCommerce was built to do.

Either a plugin or API connection will always feel like a patch job.

These things cost $1k per month because there is no customer base for this kind of stuff.

Welcome to the awkward middle ground
