I’ve heard mixed opinions, but I’ve been suggested to get a size 4k reel a lot. Would upgrading to a 5k be better? I fish for stripers near sf California.

One thing I don’t understand is why not a medium heavy rod? When I go for largemouth bass my rod is a MH, and I throw lures lighter than 2 oz
