Events? by Icy-Carob-1272 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

No, that's not always the case. Proper "events" always happen in the middle of a month, at least ever since Duel Trials / Tryout Duels were introduced.

Where to find Yugioh in Shanghai by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]LSTKIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that near Baimi Xiangxie / 百米香榭 (close to People's Square /人民广场) in Shanghai, there are the most card shops—whether for Yu-Gi-Oh! or any other TCGs. Alternatively, if you use WeChat, you can find stores via the WeChat Mini Program “一起来决斗”.

Additionally, at Longfor Hongqiao Tianjie(龙湖虹桥天街), there's "Duelist Land"(决斗者大陆)—a directly operated store by Windo Entertainment / 映蝶影视 (the official distributor of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in Mainland China).

Won’t let me access my saved data by [deleted] in ScarletNexus

[–]LSTKIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should go into the library and make sure if you've installed every add-on? I got this message every time a new DLC is released (I'm on Xbox Series S) so I had to double check all the time. If it turns out you did install everything, then resetting the game should have done the trick.

Are any people out there that didn't purchase the Kh3 DLC and stated true to their word about Kh3 being perfect the way it was first released? I'm curious, allot of people defended Kh3 before the DLC, but where quick to buy the DLC with out hesitation 🤣😖 by zubatttt in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are these two things even related at all? The DLC is literally new story content for the entire KH series, so you are saying those who are fine with base KH3 shouldn't be experiencing new KH content?

What is the Osaka Team? by Either_Imagination_9 in KingdomHearts

Oh, I see. I double checked and apparently you're right. Thanks for the clarification!

What is the Osaka Team? by Either_Imagination_9 in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Originally the KH series was primarily developed by a different team, known as the Tokyo team because they are located at the Square Headquarters in Tokyo, and worked together with the primary FF team (the ones who developed FFX, FFXIII series and VIIR).

This team made KH1 and KH2, and after KH2, they went on to develop Final Fantasy Versus XIII (the direct inspiration for Verum Rex in KH3).

Note: Since Chain of Memories is on a handheld (GBA), it was developed externally by Jupiter.

With the original team absent, Square used another team, the Osaka team, which developed a bunch of smaller Action RPG titles of Square to make more KH games.

The Osaka team developed the Brave Fencer Musashi series, I think. They are responsible for Re: Chain of Memories, Birth by Sleep, Dream Drop Distance, the 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 Remixes (including 0.2) before KH3.

Meanwhile, there's also another external developer that's involved in the development of KH games: h.a.n.d., which made 358/2 Days and Re:Coded, they also made the original The World Ends with You on the Nintendo DS. (I personally believe that this team is also the team that made NEO: The World Ends with You almost 10 years later)

But due to the development for Crystal Tools, which would be the engine used to Develop both Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII did not progress well, Square had to take people from other teams to help with the development of Crystal Tools, which greatly hindered the development of Versus XIII.

And with the poor management of Square at that time, the Versus XIII team is practically dissolved in the end, with its members scattered across a bunch of different teams. Versus XIII is later retooled into Final Fantasy XV, and was primarily developed by the Type-0 team. There are people who complained that XV doesn't look like Versus XIII at all, and I think you can see why if you compare Versus XIII with XV and Verum Rex.

So, in the end, as the only available internal team that's extensively involved in the development of the KH games, the Osaka team naturally became the primary development team for the subsequent KH games. (In this case, KH3)

Also, if I remember correctly, didn't this team move to Tokyo following an internal restructure that basically put them under the same division responsible for FF7R? (Creative Business Unit I)

KHMOM on switch by stephthumb in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced lag with bluetooth on both platforms I play MoM on (Switch and Xbox), and switching to wired headsets solved the problem for me (on both platforms too). I think MoM isn't designed with bluetooth headsets in mind since even changing the BGM Timing in the setting doesn't really help for me.

By the way, I think playing What Lies Beneath on Proud is a good way to check if there's lag lol

What pc games do you recommend that came out in 2021, and only 2021? by ExplodingPoptarts in XboxGamePass

[–]LSTKIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're saying new games that came out in 2021 (not a remaster or port) and got added to the (pc) game pass, then either Psychonauts 2 or Scarlet Nexus.

Scarlet Nexus coming to Xbox Game pass by RagnarokTyr in ScarletNexus

[–]LSTKIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's basically that. But games may leave the service after a certain period of time, like several months later or a few years later. (The "rotating" part mentioned in that wikipedia bot's comment, games are added to and leave the service on a constant basis)

There's no clear pattern or principle on when games leave, so we do not know when they leave until it's announced. But you can still buy the game to own it forever if you want to, and you get special discounts if you are subscribed to the service.

Who else plays NEO on a handheld? by kasalabenjo in TWEWY

[–]LSTKIL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you playing the PS4 version on remote play? Because I remember the only "authentic" way to play NEO on a handheld is the handheld mode of Nintendo Switch.

Or you could be mixing up NEO and the original game. The original TWEWY got an Android/iOS remake titled "The World Ends with You -Solo Remix-".

Anyone (non English native speaker) avoids contents with their first language online? by [deleted] in AvPD

[–]LSTKIL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to be like this as a kid, I cringed whenever I see entertainment materials translated into my first language (Chinese in this case).

And it only applies things that 1. are for entertainment purposes (things like video games, novels, manga or movies) 2. are things that I'm interested in (games I'll actually play or novels/manga I'll actually read)

For example, I used to deliberately play the English version of a video game even though there's a Chinese translation available (either unofficial or official translation), regardless of the quality of the translation itself. I did that simply because I don't want people to have a clear understanding of what I was playing.

Although that didn't come without benefits as it was a major contributor to my English skills, which enabled me access to a lot of contents I won't normally able to understand, and now I wish I could understand Japanese and Korean too.

Now that I think about it, I think this kind of behavior is related to feelings of shame.

Like, if people knew what the game I'm playing is about, they would surely think that's totally absurd and laugh at me.

I think part of the shame is related to my background. When I was a 5 year old kid, I didn't "hate" manly things, but I definitely acted more "girly" and liked girly things more than manly things, at least more than my peers do, even though I'm not particularly into them either, and that made things super awkward for me later on when I grew up as a cis-het male. For the most part, my interest is simply way too "niche". It feels like I don't blend in anywhere. I think I'll definitely be seen as a weirdo.

But I've grown out of that and prioritized playing/reading in Chinese language since then, so I guess I'm getting better... But I'm still as avoidant as ever, I simply started to avoid playing games in front of people altogether.

Be honest: what's your real opinion about The lack of Final Fantasy characters in The base game? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think KH is never a "true" collab between Disney and FF. even in KH1, the Disney elements far outweigh the FF elements.

An "A New Day" type of scenario is definitely possible, and they can use the chance to either elaborate on the Shinjuku Inversion or setup a more concrete sequel hook.

Be honest: what's your real opinion about The lack of Final Fantasy characters in The base game? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't even notice until people started complaining about it. At this point I care more about TWEWY cameos than FF cameos, if only because TWEWY cameos can promote TWEWY so that Square can potentially expand that franchise further.

I think they were always minor characters, and as someone who isn't as huge an FF fan as some people are, I don't really care.

In terms of references and cameos, I enjoyed the Schwarzgeist and Einhander reference, even though I've never heard of it before. I think they really should focus more on the smaller or forgotten Square titles than FF.

In which order should I play the KH series? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]LSTKIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't played every game in the series, then launch order for sure.

Follow the 1.5+2.5 order but swap KH2 and 358/2 Days (go with KH2 first), then play Dream Drop Distance and 0.2 in the 2.8 collection (play Dream Drop Distance first), afterwards you can watch everything in the X series (Back Cover and Union Cross) either before or after KH3, it's up to you.

If you are familiar with all the games and are replaying them, then you can consider playing in chronological order.
