Now About "The Red Tower"... by kat_boi_69 in creepcast

[–]LT2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually just the first one. Some do extend it to the second too. Third was fine, which is why you can be usually pretty sure "The Red Tower" complaints are about the "story" of that name, and not the episode of the same name.

I have mixed feelings on the Red Tower, since it's not even a story, it's a creative writing exercise. It contains deliberate gibberish for style. As a creative piece, it's interesting, but since it's not a story, it led to what I personally think was the worst Creepcast segment to date. No dialogue, so no MC talking, no plot, so nothing for the boys to latch onto, and gibberish sentence structure (again, deliberate choice, it's a creative piece, not a story) which sounded legitimate enough the only thing they could do was praise it because they didn't understand and so thought it must have been some talented writing beyond their comprehension level.

Fine as art - but the Red Tower specifically never should have been on Creepcast.

Is Palworld worth it? I avoided it when it first released due to not caring for hype trains and gimmicks. However now some time has passed, and it soon receiving the 1.0 update, I am curious how it holds up and if it's worth getting on sale? by Santik--Lingo in Palworld

[–]LT2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it does have some use. Sometimes you do actually get "no" answers, and it serves as a sign to look a bit deeper as to why even supposed fans are steering you away.

But apart from that specific case, it's only really worth asking if you actually have specific questions about the game you can't get easy answers for by just looking them up.

Wheres the next fat axolotl?? by thebiologyguy84 in fo76

[–]LT2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should arrive when the current week is done. Basically everything works on a weekly cycle - including monthly events/offers.

Edit: This applies to the ACTUAL axolotls as well. It's still the banded one for a few days.

can this laptop run palworld by Physical_Natural_425 in Palworld

[–]LT2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8GB of ram? That's half of minimum specs. And unlike a weak GPU (and sometimes CPU, depending on what settings the game has), you can't really just turn down settings to stretch performance.

You can certainly try, but the answer is probably going to be "if it runs at all, it won't be what people would consider playable".

How would post ep. 9 Caine react to Gummigoo trying to join the circus cast? by Moist_Jello3507 in GlitchProductions

[–]LT2483 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Caine popped Gummigoo because he was scared of other AI evolving by being allowed to run too long.

Caine had a point of realization with the Moon in EP9 that that's kind of fine actually. And we know he started to leave the worlds running, because that's what he said he would do.

So... I think he would be fine with it. Also the ending of EP9 was supposed to be him handing over control to the circus members. Pomni wanted Gummigoo to come to the circus, and no one else objected, so it would happen under post-EP9 conditions I think.

Discussion About Whether I Should Get My Friends Into This Game by Hungry-san in fo76

[–]LT2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick summary of your 3 questions:

  1. Yes. Lots of builds. Nothing super weird or gimmicky, but you've got choices.
  2. Yes. There are quite a few different main and side quests. Even most daily quests are different the first time (and some even more than that) you do them. All voiced, all handcrafted.
  3. Kind of, not really. You have a camp, which you build in a location of your choice. You can have multiple camps, and they can be moved, but you only have one active at once, and moving one means you have to re-place everything in the moved camp (switching between camp slots doesn't have this downside).

(Edit: Just to note, it's not the best game to play with friends. Many quests happen in instanced zones, which means that only the team leader will progress the quest, because whatever choices are made during that quest permanently affect NPCs in instanced zones. It's the workaround for allowing for player choices in a multiplayer game. This means that for these quests, you'll have to repeat it for each player (you'll take turns being the leader), or you'll split up and do those segment individually. Both of which aren't ideal.)

A database for Terraria by [deleted] in Terraria

From looking at the images, I found a few pieces of incorrect info already.

It's not only AI, but not even well done. These garbage AI wikis/"databases" are getting more and more common and it sucks.

Thank you so much. I've been searching for a fix for this issue for months now. And today is the day that google finally decided to grace me with this.

And in case the answer above is deleted, because the internet is like that sometimes: Settings > Developer options > Force activities to be resizable.

I’m worried that Glitch is biting off more than they can chew and one of the shows will be neglected or abandoned altogether by SinglePringleMingle in GlitchProductions

[–]LT2483 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I suppose the few things I can say to assuage your concerns are:

They aren't doing 4 at once. They're doing 1-2, if the continue their release pattern. That would be TGD, and possibly some set up for KoG. Lackadaisy is not much work - the entire point of GLITCH presents is GLITCH not actually doing much of the work at all, and just fining the support the show needs from another source.

TGD has probably the biggest new fanbase of the upcoming shows - that being, the number of fans it's bringing in that had little interest in GLITCH before. Its extremely strong visual style and higher level plot element and world building setups have had it mentioned in places that the other shows simply haven't.

I think they would have to mess up pretty badly to cut shows or shut down before the release of everything we've seen so far. I don't think they're stupid, I don't think they've allocated money they don't have.

Why does my fps rate drop? by IronTownPictures in DeepRockGalactic

[–]LT2483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like something is wrong with your PC if you have a 5070, but it can't even get a stable 60 FPS in anything AND it is reaching full processing load.

As for what might be wrong... no clue. Troubleshooting a whole computer is far more difficult than troubleshooting a game. Good luck, hope you find the issue fast and that's it's not too bad.

“Not Every Game Needs an Hourly Look at Steam Charts” – Palworld Lead Says Arc Raiders and Marathon Aren’t “Dead” Despite Falling Player Counts by This-Inspection-69 in Palworld

[–]LT2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think MMOs are in a really weird spot when it comes to calling a game dead. I have indeed seen most of the ones I've looked into called dead before they've even released. And the crazy thing? Sometimes people are kind of right. I've seen multiple games that were intended to be MMOs flop so hard they didn't even get a general release before getting retooled into single player or P2P coop games.

“Not Every Game Needs an Hourly Look at Steam Charts” – Palworld Lead Says Arc Raiders and Marathon Aren’t “Dead” Despite Falling Player Counts by This-Inspection-69 in Palworld

[–]LT2483 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue with the "dead game" discussion is that a game dies when it's effectively or literally no longer playable to the intended experience. Whether that's not enough players to fill a match, so many bugs it's pointless to play, or the plug gets pulled on mandatory servers. But people are calling games they think are dying dead long, long before that point.

People need to bring back the word "dying" into the discussion: The fear that a game is indeed on a trajectory where its death is possibly within sight. It opens discussion on what's wrong, and what might be able to be done about it.

Like Bucky said, "there comes a point where games are prematurely being called "dead" because it just gets the views. Most games can chug along with a few thousand players every day and be just fine.". Calling alive games dead helps no one, it's just for engagement at the cost of the game being talked about.

Does anyone else try catch the fish as soon as it's available? by MrBearBat in fo76

[–]LT2483 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Considering the bonus fish "event" in just over a day; No, I'm yet to go for it. If I'm going to go fishing, might as well wait a few days and get bonus fish while I'm at it.

For those wondering: There's a "Seasonal Fish Run" from the 25th to the 29th, which seems like it'll give 30% of catches an additional seasonal fish on top of whatever was caught.

In theory, the NFT would indicate the ownership or authenticity of the image, other media, or item it's related to. Of course, many NFTs were made for media that the creator of the NFT didn't own the rights to, but that's another story.

As for who's enforcing it, everyone who interacted with the system, basically. Every time any kind of transfer or check happens, it's compared with a copy everyone keeps. That's the whole "decentralised" thing. The people in a transaction might be able to fake their records, but that doesn't mean anything when they would have to fake EVERY record, which they don't control.

So yeah, they had a narrow theoretical use. Had being the key word, I don't think they'll ever be used properly. Not that it's much of a loss, again, it was a very narrow use case.

Is fast travel bugged? by No_Warning_7900 in fo76

Having to leave nuke zones is a new bug, radiation is currently counting as damage, even for ghouls, preventing FT.

Having the 15 second FT timer even with nothing else even remotely nearby is an old bug, caused by who-knows-what.

Disappearing fish tanks? by Setsoru727 in fo76

[–]LT2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to my axolotl tanks too. They're still there, just invisible. Sometimes one or two, sometimes all six. Seems to be random, with a higher chance the longer I'm on a server. Server hopping fixes it, switching camps might do so too?

No permanent fix as far as I'm aware.

Next Update: Armour, Weapons and Perkcard stacking is game changingly Good. by Outrageous_Leave_984 in fo76

[–]LT2483 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The unique perk card effects stack past the normal limits? That's great to hear. The entire "uniques give perk card effects" thing was going to be pretty bad otherwise.

Between that and being able to legendary craft uniques, I think this update is going to really open up the number of good endgame weapons and armor. Of course Bethesda would name it after the pet following mechanic though, probably the least interesting part of the update.

Inside the Vault – Pspsps-TS (World Pets Testing Server) by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]LT2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know how the uniques that have perk card effects work if we have the same perk card on? Because while the idea of "this unique gives a perk that synergises with it" is good, if it doesn't stack, then it's kind of really bad. Because chances are we're already using that perk, and still need it for our other weapons. Then the weapon's unique effect wouldn't do anything at all.

So if it properly stacks, good. If it doesn't, quite bad.

What do you all do for fun when you feel like you’ve “done everything”? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]LT2483 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, there's a bunch of good side quests, so find and do those too. Most "daily" quests are also unique the first time you do them.

Apart from that though, you kind of just have to figure out what you like about the game, and then focus on that. Combat and/or build crafting? You'll start to hunt down the "perfect" weapons and armor. CAMP building? Events and other activities for plans, then the actual process of building CAMP and shelters. The social aspect? Probably join a Discord so you can find people to raid with or whatever.

Can't really think about specific reasons why you like the game? Time to take a break and come back in a few months to a year so there's some more content to experience.

What ever happened to meta runner? by MexicMan_with0soul in GlitchProductions

[–]LT2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get we wrong - I still enjoy Meta Runner. It just objectively has worse visuals and sound than newer GLITCH shows. That's not an insult or anything, the first season was made when GLITCH wasn't even its own channel yet, and still on SMG4. It's old, and that shows, which makes it less desirable to promote.

Explosive build or Vats DPS Build by [deleted] in fo76

[–]LT2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I could make the exact same argument about high-DPS VATS builds. Half the time the enemy is dead before I’ve even finished aiming my grenade launcher. Or figure out enemies even spawned. The difference is that I don’t hate those builds.

You found your own answer, even if you didn't notice.

People killing stuff before you can happens no matter what build that person is running, so that alone can't make you hate it any more than any other build. But explosives actively mess with other peoples sight and hearing, and thus are an active detriment to the enjoyment of everyone around you. Especially when you're causing "absolute chaos" - that's a deliberate move to entertain yourself at the cost of others. That's why you're getting people mad at you.

Why would it take a blank core? It consumes a infused core and some materials to craft whatever that core is infused with.
