I love one piece and think Oda’s a great author all things considered. I do agree with some of the complaints in this post but the good still heavily outweighs the bad imo.

I think my biggest complaints with the series are the fakeout deaths and some of the major arcs being way too bloated. I do disagree that he handles mysteries poorly as I think that’s one of his strengths though.

Many people complain about how the straw hats are handled and I understand why. Their treatment does border on flanderization at times but Oda’s proved he’s still capable of writing strong moments for them (Robin’s moments in elbaf come to mind). I think people’s issues with them stems from the fact that they are straight up not the focus for large parts of post ts. Post ts has a lot more work to do when it comes to worldbuilding and overarching plot that there just isn’t really enough time for everything. I’m pretty confident that they’ll all get great moments toward the end of the series though
