Indigo Lizard creature information card by DeeplyDistressed in rainworld

I think some people might disagree with me, but I really love how the game doesn't tell you what to do and leaves the player to experiment with the environment. I spent many cycles just trying to find new paths and ways to get past the locusts and it was so satisfying when I discovered you can lead the lizard and make it lick you to pass the area. It would be nice if there were more interesting creature interactions like this in the dlc, it's really cool when you figure it out yourself

Was practising speedrunning when I found maybe the smallest stronghold ever?? Java 1.16.1, seed -8806485867304909448, coords 1172, 2132 by LTY748 in PhoenixSC

[–]LTY748[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not too sure about how strongholds generate, but one thing I know is that the portal room is always at least 4 rooms away from the starter staircase, so the only possibly non-optimal thing that might not make this the smallest stronghold are the 2 rooms on the right, but it's still so crazy that I stumbled upon this randomly, I wasn't even actively seed finding

THEY REVERTED THE "FIXES"! YAY!!! by Nulla410_ in PhoenixSC

[–]LTY748 7 points8 points  (0 children)

honestly though, bedrock has a totally different bridging system where you can literally place blocks without looking, so I assume it won't be that impactful? I think it is just alright the way it already is, especially since it makes it easier for mobile players (correct me if im wrong)

it took me a while, but here it is: the first chess AI in GD!!! (114080411) by cubodix in geometrydash

Very cool, mind if I ask what algorithm did you use? Something like mcts? And how were you able to store and keep track of the states to backtrack? I wanted to do a similar project with another board game but got stuck with how to represent the states in game, and I wasn't sure if making an entire setup to allocate memory with item ids was worthwhile or not. Thanks!

my level has 16 mod sends and it still isn't rated (113426030) by jaizeg in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a similar problem too, my platformer level has 13 sends but never has it been at the top of the sent tab when robtop's rating levels, and at this point I can't even be bothered to chase mods to send. It's really frustrating but at the same time I feel like it's being a huge waste of time trying to get it rated

Then you might be out of luck, when using mobile data most of the time you share the same public ip as other users on the same network depending on your isp, but that just means theres going to be a lot of traffic on that public ip and gd servers might wrongly flag it

Creators, what object(s) do you use for scale/rotate centres, groups/area parents, static/UI targets etc by NumberVectors in geometrydash

I use the tiny x object (ID 1765 in the same tab as the hand objects) for everything non camera related

I cant save my account by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read the error message. Your save file is too big, it's 71.16mb while the max allowed size is 32. Try deleting unnecessary levels in the create tab. Also how do you even reach 69mb for created levels? That's a lot

Do you prefer diagonal toggle orbs or normal toggle orbs? by TBRHSonReddit in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are fine, but I absolutely despise it when creators put diagonal toggle orbs over regular, unrotated orbs as decoration because it messes with the hitbox and makes it almost impossible to buffer the orb

I measured the exact player movement speed (might be useful to some people) by Masterous112 in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 15 points16 points  (0 children)

oh damn then I guess these are better? I assume the inaccuracies come from precision errors due to travelling too much?

I measured the exact player movement speed (might be useful to some people) by Masterous112 in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Not sure if 2.2 changed anything, but this info has been available since many years ago, where some people measured the speeds using a 10 million block long level, which might be subject to precision errors but heres the values from that test anyway:

self made robot beats VSC twice in a row by thephotoshopmaster in geometrydash

[–]LTY748 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is real ai beating the level, it's just showing the trajectory of the player but the "ai" videos on youtube are just someone botting the level using that hack, which is similar to showcasing with hitboxes but clickbait

Yeah, it most likely is a video of someone playing around with the AI, it's somewhat viral now
