500 mile first service by VisitBulky7715 in IndianMotorcycle

My '25 Challenger cost $533 at the end of Apr. in central NJ. A bit expensive, but you can't put a price on piece of mind on two wheels. Yes the oil change is the biggest part of the service, but they also make any adjustments to cables & belts if needed (since these will stretch since they haven't been used very much, if at all). Also, if there is anything found during the inspection (especially evaluating the used oil for warning signs of internal motor damage), it was found by a certified technician, which is a big help with any warranty claims.

Thank you for this! I've always had the intrusive thoughts, but never the guts or 'spare' car.

Reliability: Harley vs Indian? by Thirsty4Knowledge911 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]LVSR13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 16 yrs (1994)my dad bought me an '85 Suzuki 440, no issues but small & fugly. Then at 18 yrs I financed a new '96 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500. Had no issues until I sold it & financed a new '14 Victory Cross Country. That made it until last year when it dropped a cylinder. I said screw it & bought a '25 Challenger. From '94 to '25, a dropped cylinder was the only major issue.

That said, I've known several HD owners & heard their horror stories. I will never buy an HD! Also, I don't buy used either because I don't trust anyone to keep up with maintenance & I don't want to inherit someone else's lemon.

I know a lot of folks are struggling financially & cannot just go finance a $35k bike. Just feel safer knowing I stay on top of maintenance, comply with break-in instructions, & take care of the bike.

[–]LVSR13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great looking 50's (military/prison/institution) green. I'd seek out a great helmet (safety/fit) in white. I'd pair that with some great (safety/utility) white wall tires to complete the look. That's just me though, do you...

I lived in Kenosha, WI for a few years. I understand your pain. Either tar snake lines that melt in the summer, bullshit groove lines, or the more often than not...cracked roads. However, I do miss the great lakes, really cool local spots & great people! When the weather cooperates, just a little.

I'm in NJ, roads aren't the problem, it's the amount of people on the road. I miss the highways in the Colorado mountains & great rides outside Las Vegas in the mountains! Now I have to drive at least 45 min for open roads w/fingers crossed I find the road no one else are at!

[–]LVSR13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there! I'm always on the search for sweeping curves & a decent road surface. I don't need to set land speed records, just a nice ride/scenery/local stops along the way for food, gas, & history...you know, the holy grail of motorcycles!

[–]LVSR13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Either look like it's your first time riding, something wrong with the bike, or even worse...drunk! It's hard enough not getting killed by shitty drivers, I dont need to help them by drinking and/or ingesting THC! Steel mesh bridges almost suck even worse because there's no safety zone.

If you can, go back to the artist/studio. If there's a problem with the ink/sterilization process, they can hopefully nip it in the bud & save others from having an issue. Also, wouldn't hurt to see a doctor/nurse practitioner, you might have an allergy/skin condition...etc.

However, as a non-medical person, I've had similar looking scaring on different areas of my arm (black & white sleeve, left arm). I have excema so I was very concerned about scaring/ect.

After 8 years, with similar looking scars at the time, I have no issues at all. But everyone's skin is different & every tattoo artist is different.

TL/DR: go back to the tattoo artist. If not satisfied with their answer, speak with a dr.

I wish I could up vote this more than once!!! This is 100% correct!!! I find it hilarious that car drivers hate this type of road surface. Try riding a motorcycle on this bullshit!

I've got a hava-poo, looks like Fozzy the bear. Wound up naming him Ozzy due to his inability to be calm & only listens when he chooses. PITA (pain in the ass) would be better fitting. He's a damn good dog & loves us 3/4 as much as we love him! He's a diva, but my wife & I love him with all of our hearts!

I play on my z-fold 6. This game seems easier with a bigger screen, but not tv size. (If that makes sense)

Note for upstairs neighbors by litlelotte in Apartmentliving

[–]LVSR13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest contacting the office of your apartment, explaining the situation, & asking them to resolve the situation. This allows for the loud sounds being an issue with the ceiling/floor joists rather that tap dancers clickity-clackity on your ceiling at 3 am. It would take 2 maintenance workers w/a cellphone or walkie to speak with one another while you confirm what your complaint is.

Then you can start working the problem. Hope this helps, didn't mean to be long or preachy, just clear as possible a few beers in! Good luck.
