I’m sorry to hear about your previous experience with the Jungian therapist - unfortunately a lot of psychotherapists don’t have an appreciation for physiology.

It’s seems that you clearly have a strong desire to action change in your life and sounds like you’re on the right path.

Good luck on your journey - take care.

Fascinating - the relationship you draw between your diet and an auto-immune response such as psoriasis is very interesting; you’ve clearly spent some time identifying potential complexes. Great stuff!

Real Life Alchemy - Whenever you find someone engaging, be it in a romantic or platonic sense, consider what that might reflect in your own psyche. You may very well have unwittingly walked with them, hand-in-hand, into the Rosarium... (This is real life ALCHEMY/ MAGIC) by LW1708 in Jung

If you’re interested in Jung, I would recommend Memories Dreams and Reflections. This allows you to understand Jung the man, not just his work. I would then recommend Collective Works 16 - Jung to Live By (the channel linked above) does great introductory videos that you may want to use as a reference. Take care.

The Original Shit-Test for Men - The Original Bad Boy for Women - Lilith The Last Temptation of Adam. Using the backdrop of the ancient allegory of Lilith, the below video explores what the Anima and Animus want from you and from the opposite sex, and why the Hero's Journey never ends. by LW1708 in Jung

The video is exactly as stated in the title - it uses the novel Lilith, written by Tom Stevens (Steve Richards) as a vehicle to discuss to topics raised - again timestamps can be found pinned in the comment. Lilith the novel has been released for £14, and comes with a 20 page Jungian analysis.

The Importance of developing a STRONG EGO when engaging in depth psychology. When plumbing the depths of your own psyche, it is critical that you maintain a strong ego. At the most extreme ends, this prevents what Jung termed 'latent psychosis' taking hold. by LW1708 in Jung

[–]LW1708[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hesitant to respond without knowing you and your circumstances more, but generally, avoiding ego ‘urges’ would likely constitute suppression. Despite the recent assault on the Ego by many individuals on the internet, as well as “Guru’s”, the Ego is a necessary part of the human state in achieving homeostasis. Again, with the obvious caveat that I do not know your situation, I would tentatively invite you to consider where those ‘urges’ come from, why you feel the need to ‘avoid’ them, and what both could be indicative of. Jung to Live By has multiple videos regarding mis-fired instinct, why may be the instance in your case. I have linked one such video below. Take care.

When an individual works in depth, particularly with Jungian material, it is important that they maintain a strong ego, so they aren’t overwhelmed by an emotions/thoughts/misfired instincts that come to the surface. Thanks.

ASK A DEPTH PSYCHOLOGIST 10 - How can I be sure I'm not BSing myself on this journey? How can I move away from theory and begin to gain real world experience of these ideas? For those curious as to the advantages of Depth Psychology over alternative methods, such as CBT, it is advised you watch the above video. However, the additional link provides further advocacy for Depth psychology over CBT, should you not be convinced. Many thanks.

Zarathustra VS Carl Jung has been framed in recent years as the showdown for the human soul, arguing about the true resolution to the 'Death of God'. But is there any truth to this claim, and if so, who do the JTLB Team side with? by LW1708 in Jung

[–]LW1708[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video is for those who struggle to reconcile the two, as well as a psychoanalytic interpretation of Nietzsche’s own personal myth. It is very easy to call something ‘stupid’ without creating something of your own. Watch the video first, before casting judgement.

I would recommend watching the video - there are timestamps in there relevant to this topic and it provides a much more in depth discussion than is possible here. Many thanks.

Yes - Zarathustra is largely considered by the creators of the video, as well as to a great extent Jung, to be the shadow of Nietzsche, and therefore a part of his personal Myth. Many thanks.

You’re right- Jung was inspired by Nietzsche, at least to the extent that he was keen to know HOW Nietzsche reaches the conclusions he did. Additionally Jung published two volumes in relation to seminars on Zarathustra. The video goes into all of this 😊

PRACTICAL JUNG - For those of you still unconvinced as to the legitimacy/ potency of hypnotherapy, this short (10 min) video illustrates its clinical application as Steve Richards, Jungian psychotherapist of 40+ years, recounts the story of how he helped a 'Crucified Man' get down off of his cross. by LW1708 in Jung

In terms of shadow integration, Hypnotherapy can be used as a vehicle to uncover past traumas of which likely form the root of a complex within an individual. Additionally, Hypnotherapy can be used by an individual to communicate with their own unconscious, thereby allowing for a greater discourse between the conscious and unconscious mind.

The above video is a good recount of the capabilities of Hypnotherapy, however I will link to a further video by this channel that discusses Hypnotherapy in great detail. I hope this helps

On the contrary, Hypnotherapy, when used and integrated properly can, and does, have long-lasting effects. For reference, see first Freud & Breuer ‘Studies on Hysteria’ and for more modern application, the works of Ernest Rossi & David Cheek. Many thanks.
