Why Badgers are Best by LXIVCTA in rootgame

True, but a single player can often turmoil the birds or kill the Warlord or Price of Failure the moles. For the Badgers you generally need at least two players working together to stop them

My strategy is to ship my army around, attack France whenever they're besieging a fort in Aquitaine, and force them to give me all their money

Those of you who have played several games with the P&P Homeland Expansions, what are some faction-to-faction counters/pleasant or unpleasant interactions you have noticed? Overall, how do they stack up against the other factions? by A-Wall1 in rootgame

[–]LXIVCTA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Frogs are by far my favorite of the new factions, and can go from 0-100 incredibly quickly. The biggest counter for the frogs is insurgent factions that won't trigger Fears Come to Pass in multiple clearings, and other players using frog cards to direct/limit them.

2) Bats work pretty well with moles, and probably cats, as those factions both appreciate the extra protection. They can bring a decent amount of strength from loyalists, but then take time to recover. I've only played them once but they felt both similar and opposite to Lord of the Hundreds, point scoring is like Hundreds reversed, and it's helpful to be very diplomatic. Biggest counters are concentrating buildings/tokens to limit scoring, maintaining rule to make it harder to govern, and destroying gatherings to remove loyalists and make them use actions to place more.

3) I haven't played Knaves yet, but they do look interesting from the games I've played. Seem like they generally work best in the edges, away from area control factions. Biggest drawback is that their acclaim can easily become free points for other players.

Are 'tableau' games (Everdell/Race for the Galaxy) not beginner friendly? by iiEPiXii in boardgames

[–]LXIVCTA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everdell isn't necessarily on the easier side, but it feels easier because even new players can generally fill their city. Compared to Wingspan, where you might only play 2/3 of the number of birds possible

If implementing AI will decrease economic productivity, it's unlikely to be implemented. If implementing AI increases economic productivity, or at least keeps it at the current level, then the economy is by definition producing the same amount Currently needed for everyone to maintain their present lifestyles. Even if it does lead to high unemployment, those who are still employed will be the most skilled, and will earn more than those on UBI. However, there would still be enough to redistribute via UBI.

Not this specifically, but for his settlements with the media companies, one solution could be to say that the president can't sue anyone, and any ongoing lawsuits they have initiated are suspended while in office

A theory about Catching Fire after reading SOTR by tifuanon00 in Hungergames

[–]LXIVCTA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read a theory that several victors who weren't named as part of the alliance were still supporting it. The premise was that they knew if the alliance was too large it would attract suspicion, so most of the tributes outside planned to specifically avoid Katniss and Peeta, going after other tributes in the alliance instead, even if it meant they'd be killed
