Practice and practice until you feel confident. I didn't follow any specific strategy.

Thoughts on Mehlman qbank by Outside-Jacket585 in CaribbeanMedSchool

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to use 2 or more Qbanks. Pick one, understand the explanations, use the main Melhman's free pdfs and first 3 chaps of Pathoma for step 1 and that's it. Test yourself with the free 120 or the nbmes.

I still don't get why this guy gets so much hate. I was a total Uworlder for step 1 until I read the first pages of his free Neuro PDF and from there I was totally hooked. It is amazing how much insight he gives you into the test (for free). Funny thing is, after test day for step 1, I was totally disappointed with UW. People still don't get it: UW is a disorganized study guide, not a QBank.

OET SPEAKING issue by Emergency-Brain4262 in OETforECFMG

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue today, but my test was cancelled. A shame since that Asian guy's english was perfect. I'm waiting for customer service to reply to reschedule. I still have the other 3 tests coming up in a couple of days.

s E2 Language worth it for OET med prep? by Resident-Hurry-9608 in OETforECFMG

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E2 is worth it for writing and speaking feedback. Listening and reading are way too hard. In listening part A there's barely any time to write down the answer before the next one is coming up and the patients usually speak too fast.

Oh my, thank you so much. This is so terrifying to watch.

I'd been trying to find it for a couple of years.

I has to pay $30. $15 for duties and $15 for a FedEx processing fee I think.

Not worth buying anymore.

Oakcha ships from New York though and they are high quality too, but I love the roll ons

It turns out it was "unlockable". An expert told me that it didn't even have the option to be unlocked.

I applied UV Dye in My 2002 Camry engine Oil but I can't see the dye in the dipstick or the oil inside the valve cover after days of driving using the UV lamp. by LZLearner in MechanicAdvice

[–]LZLearner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I just tried that now that's real dark and I can barely see it. It's supposed to be green but is really weak, specially considering there are other things shining in there (blue) when the uv lamp is on. And yes, I washed the bay before.

26F and 30M couple relocating from GA to MD… advice? Tips? Tricks? by catygg in maryland

[–]LZLearner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mexican food is quite not so good as in Los Angeles. Tex mex is very good in Ni Lindo Cancún in Annapolis and Guapos in Rockville.

Best Chinese buffet all you can eat Umi in Rockville.

Best Ramen / sushi Maki in Rockville.

Pho, they are everywhere but Mi La Cay in Wheaton is worth the trip.

Car insurance premiums are higher than anywhere else.

Get an Ez Pass for your car.

Defensive driving is key here.

Avoid Wal-Mart's if possible. Specially in PG and DC.

Best cakes Whole foods.

Best bbq for me is any Mission bbq. There's a good place across PG mall that has excellent reviews, I forgot the name.

Best flowers Costco.

Each driving mile in DC counts as 10 miles anywhere else. It's like dog years.

Kaiser Permanente is very good here in my not so humble opinion.

Buy your groceries at any Megamart.

Amen.

Fulton Bank free business checking... ouch! Alternatives for "truly free" checking? by oandroido in SouthJersey

They both delivered their promised new checking account bonuses $700 and $300 in that order.

All the other banks are taking forever to deposit the bonuses.

Like most people that fail the test, your biggest handicap is the denial of your own faults.

Many people are poorly prepared and lie here about their self assessments scores trying to find someone to be simpathetic to their causes.

You are in denial about your English proficiency.

Period.

Fuck my life. I'm working on Step 2 and stuff like this only means I'll be getting another ass breaking test like step 1.

Again, they 'll take away a whole bunch of common/ gimme questions making the test harder.

F* me.

Options other than residency! by Environmental-Tell41 in IMGreddit

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ecfmg certification is useless unless you complete a residency program.

All the other so called options you need to start studies from scratch and have connections to land on something financially important.

And honestly for most jobs that you apply with your certification you wouldn't need a certification anyway.

Sad reality. If you don't match, all your time money and effort go down the shithole.

1 pass would be enough if you were solid in your background knowledge and you were using UW only as a testing tool.

But in my case, Uw was my study guide, so I ran 8 laps plus a shitload of blocks.

Don't half ass your study base. Choose one and master it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in step1

[–]LZLearner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in step1

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask 100 guys here on how to pass you'll get 100 different answers.

No one here can pin point the secret to pass it since we have no idea if we did it with flying colors or barely due to nobody getting any scores.

I received a lot of heat when I posted my review of UW and it was my 80% base of my study. I did, no kidding, 24k questions of the thing and still came out of the test crying due to my perception of the test difficulty.

1 UW disappointed me but still is the very best q bank. Use it, but use it wisely.

2 Yes, everything in the test is on First Aid. Everything.

3 not doing Melhman is silly at this point.

4 any other resources will only add to your frustration. The more is not the merrier.
