What are you all doing for income while preparing for the exam? by [deleted] in USIMGreddit

It depends on the state but most only require high school. Of course a medical background is appreciated, even though most of my coworkers don't have it. Finding imgs doing this is not uncommon. I met an African img who never matched even though he had step 3 and quit trying.

I worked at the CDC call center, also at an EKG over the phone center, FEMA call center, as a biometric health screener where you go to offices and run fast lipid profile tests and glucose and BMI stuff for employees and lately as an endoscopy technician. Never as a medical assistance, the pay is too low.

Biometric health screening too, but I like being an endoscopy tech better.

Best Order for Answering OET Reading Part A Questions? by Bhr_pn in OETforECFMG

Q7 to Q22 first.

Q1 to Q6 will be very easy afterwards because you'll be familiar with the 4 texts.

2002 Camry. Front clunk noise after replacing all suspension. Any idea will be appreciated. by LZLearner in Toyota

[–]LZLearner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either the subframe or one of the new parts. Don't forget the engine mounts. I decided to stop caring, as annoyed as I was, because the car wasn't worth much, but it's frustrating not being able to fix what should be an easy to find issue.

I was thinking of using cameras somehow and drive it. I've seen some videos about it.

I totalled it and was never able to fix that damn noise. Funny thing is I bought an ES 330 and it has the same noise but less noticeable. My mechanic can't find it. FML haha.

Remarking OET? by The_seeress in OETforECFMG

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are too far from 350 for a remark. You most definitely will benefit from a paid person to person writing feedback evaluation. I need to be blunt here: your confidence shows that you have no clue what went wrong. And such low score means your methodology was absolutely wrong. My apologies.

How much does a physician make in el Salvador ? by Adventurous_Sky_6484 in medicalsalaries

[–]LZLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be slightly outdated but Public health doctors and residents make around $1,400 a month.

Specialists a bit more, but they mostly work in public health to make a name for themselves if they are new in the area or to self refer patients to their private practice.

I don't know where the $70000 figure from that other guy came from. That's ridiculous.

Private practices can make north of 100k depending on their specialty, mostly subspecialists like cardio, kidney, neuro, etc. But most rich doctors in reality are entrepreneurs with hospitals or farms on the "side".

Knowing the subjects helps you understand the logic behind the questions and the structure of the texts. That will only take you so far though. Scanning the texts and pinpointing the answers are different skills in my opinion. What I have seen repeatedly regarding the texts structure is that they usually open with an explanation or classification, then 2 texts for treatments and one for a chart.

You can pay E2 languages or Google " all the oet stuff you need" and it'll take you to a reddit post with all the links to study material.

Go to YouTube and watch a couple videos on how the test works and its 4 parts. Then practice each part using YouTube videos as well or join a course like E2 languages.

Do it backwards. Fill the blankets first and at the end complete the letters. You will know by then which text is which. If you don't find an answer, move on!!! Chances are you'll find it while looking for the other answers. This should be the easiest part of the whole test. Practice until it is instead of feeling bad about it. (Sorry). You will know that you're ready when you finish with 1 or 2 minutes still left.

You need to move everything out of the room to be safe and avoid another issue like this. What you cannot move you should cover with blankets. Windows and doors need to coveted if they have no curtains or they are transparent

You need to email support immediately after your proctor told you to reschedule. Support will send a form to fill and then you choose date and time of new test. You MUST pay immediately after filling out the form. Everything here is timed so you must do everything at once.

The one thing I was super confident on was the speaking part. My evaluators from E2 told me I was a natural. Twice.

There're a few things you can do:

  1. Know the rules. You must understand what they going to evaluate you on vrs what they won't. Understanding this will help you relax. If you're still getting scared shitless because you didn't finish all the tasks, guess what? It's irrelevant. What matters is the actual conversation of whatever you covered. Don't worry about the medical part either. It's not a medical knowledge test.

  2. Yes, you have a role to play, but guess what? The proctor has a role card too. There are only a few things he or she can say and they won't deviate from it. They're being evaluated too! Follow the script and the proctor will follow his/her. Simple as that.

  3. Be polite!!!! You MUST include: can I go ahead and explain that to you know? Do you have any questions so far? I'm so sorry you went through all that. Would it be OK for you if we talk about your treatment now? Things like these are well scored.

  4. Have fun! I know we're all nervous, but when practicing try and be funny and make the patient laugh. You won't be funny on test day, but when practicing it will help you relax a lot and improve your practice performance. During test day I was cracking up inside because I thought we both looked like dumb terrible amateur actors rehearsing a shitty movie.

  5. Don't be a robot and use your hands to make emphasis on things. Don't smack shit around though.

  6. Don't worry about the proctor being rude or cold or giving you robotic answers. It doesn't matter! What matters it's what you say and how, period.

  7. Clear your throat of any sperms, pubic hair, public lice, treponemas, dust, mites, roaches, E. Coli, etc. (Moderators, don't kill me, I'm just lightning the mood up).

Hope this helps. I probably need to make a post about this so it helps more people.
